I sat behind a parent who, for the entire show, persisted in stroking her child's hair as if she was a pet dog. I don't know how the little girl put up with it! It might have been a calming technique for the child?
When I saw Frozen recently, I too had worries about how distracting an audience that had a lot of children in it. Pleased to report that on the occasion I went, I was very impressed, there was even a school group in one of the circles and I only realised this after the show as everyone was leaving.
I am sorry to hear some have had bad audience experiences with this show but I've had way worse with adult majority audiences (most recently two people scrolling through their phones the whole way through both acts of Hamilton).

Considering we are still waiting for the Aladdin pro shot to be released, I won't hold my breath lol Yeah I’ve heard that Disney realised that having a white guy play Jaffar probably doesn’t look too great so I think it’s been shelved indefinitely. The original story of Aladdin, which is part of the collection of stories in "One Thousand and One Nights," did not specify the ethnicity or skin color of the main characters, including Aladdin or Jafar. The story is supposedly set in China, and some versions of the tale have depicted Aladdin as Chinese or with Asian features, while others have portrayed him as Arab or Middle Eastern. As for Disney's version of Aladdin (and Jafar), the decision to portray Jafar as white has been a subject of controversy and criticism. The 1992 animated film has been criticized for its cultural insensitivity and for perpetuating stereotypes about Middle Eastern and Arab cultures. While the film was set in a fictional city called Agrabah, it drew on visual and cultural elements from a variety of Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures. In recent years, Disney has been criticized for its lack of diversity and representation in its films, including the casting of white actors in non-white roles but then they are obsessed with casting the Genie as a black role and genies don’t exist. Jafar In theory could have been from any ancient country - plus we all need to stop this woke obsession with authenticity and identity politics. If that’s the case Sven in Frozen (coming from the Sami tribe) should be a white Scandinavian actor only. It must work both ways. It doesn’t. Release Aladdin. Now back to Frozen.

I have just booked for a special Pride performance of Pride on Friday 28th June @ 8pm. Not sure what the "surprises" will be but it sounds great fun and will make a camp, sparkly show even camper.

When is the best time to visit to avoid screaming crying kids?
Was considering a midweek matinee since they’d all be at school?

Then the ones who are too small for school (but are definitely 4, wink, will be there). I’ve booked for the pride performance. Starts later which will hopefully put off parents and I’m sure the queens will be easier to deal with than little princesses.

There was no attempt to maintain the minimum age rule when I saw it. There were what I would call actual babies.

This is what has put me off seeing Frozen - I just don’t want to sit in an auditorium full of little kids who don’t know how to behave in a theatre. Same goes for the Lion King. If there was an adult-only performance, I would absolutely book.

The boxes are a good way to mitigate against this. You feel a little bit out of it but its still a magical show.

Am I the only person who found it dark? As in underlit? Honestly I was mid stalls and for several scenes it was like someone hadn’t paid the leccy bill and we were running on emergency lighting. Very underpowered, even the supposed big icy lighting moments seemed subdued. I haven’t seen too many Disney musicals but this was definitely towards the bottom of the ratings. I thought the recent BATB was much better than this. I’m glad to see it go and another theatre unclogged! Now get rid of The Lion King too. That’s overstayed it’s welcome by about ten years.

They're much better behaved than the audiences at a lot of jukebox shows!
Gives me the Frozen kids over the Jersey Boys audiences any day!

I've seen Frozen 4 times and the kids have been fine. Granted they chatter a bit but it's not disruptive and usually quite amusing. As others have said I've had far worse behaviour in shows from adults.

Prosecco witches of the worst sort; there to tell their gal pals what they could afford to do with their little darlings this week.

I saw Frozen in the cheapest seats right at the back of the highest circle. The behaviour of everyone was way better than the adult audience for Guys & Dolls in good stalls seats. The amount of adults at Guys & Dolls who needed to go on multiple toilet trips, forcing everyone to get up to let them out, was ridiculous.
