Tonight was my last time seeing the show with Robert Fairchild. He's still such a joy to watch. And it always amazes me how effortless he makes it all look. Really lovely guy too. I'll miss having him in London - guess I might start going to the ballet in New York next. :-)
I do plan on seeing Ashley Dale in the show. It'll be interesting to watch another take on the role since so far I've only ever seen Robert (Broadway x3 and London x3). It's nice Leanne Cope is staying on. Such an exquisite dancer too.

I've only ever seen Robbie as Jerry Mulligan so can't compare but he really has it all: Incredible dancer and he can sing and act. Him and Leanne Cope together were quite special - such wonderful stage presence. He's going back to New York and has no new dance job lined up yet. It will very likely be a ballet though but he said he would definitely love to do another musical if the opportunity arises. :-) |

His wife, the glorious Tiler Peck, is also a principal dancer - and has also starred in musicals on Broadway and elsewhere. Indeed one called 'Little Dancer' was mounted on her. Yes, I'm hoping to see some of his future work with New York City Ballet. Nothing lined up yet (at least not when I spoke to him last week) but I will keep an eye out.
I wasn't implying he was unemployed - sorry if it came across that way. :-)
Wish I could have been at his last performance.

I'm pleased there was a speech, and response. Not for everything, of course, and some will say it's too self-indulgent, but important moments in the life of a production should be publicly marked.

Since I'm only interested in seeing this show again to see him in the lead, I need to know what performances to avoid, if any.

I'm wondering if they may bother announcing off-days for Ashley though. I mean, Fairchild and Cope were/are the "big stars from Broadway" whom many were probably keen to see, but he's... well, not a star (yet). But I'll keep an eye out on the website. Would love to book one of the cheap seats in the front stalls ahead, but would need to know he's on. Bit of a conundrum  |

I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley was only doing 6 shows. It's a tough role to play and I think Robert Fairchild's replacement on Broadway only did 6 shows too.

Another new trailer, now featuring Ashley Day! My god they've made a few. This does make me want to go back, not sure why, and great to see Zoe Rainey featured this time. I loved her, and this reminds me why.

He is missing Wednesday matinee this week and then it will be Monday nights. Subject to change of course. Max Westwell who is the alternate has never spoken or sung on stage before. Best he's a tad nervous for Wednesday! |

I saw this for the second time last night, with it being Ashley Day's first official show as the lead. I think he did really well and the rest of the cast were great as ever. I've always liked Ashley so think it's wonderful he's doing this and it would be interesting to see how he's grown in the role in a couple of months.
Very interesting about Max Westwell being the alternate, I'm sure he'll do really well otherwise a rather odd casting choice. I've only seen him at the ENB before this.

If you have to shut the balcony it's not that different surely? Likewise amending prices too, surely there's not much difference to discounting? I don't see why the need to compare. |

Parsley has told us previously that he invested in 42nd Street. He persists in petty praising of 42nd Street and petty slagging-off of An American in Paris because he sees the two shows as in direct competition.

In fact Drury Lane seats 100 MORE than Dominion Therefore not really meaningless And my point was a show with "three thousand five star reviews" Is failing to pack out the venue Any my wider point being this show was always a mistake in that venue |
