This is nonsense.. Wimbledon has had a name like David Hasslehoff!!!! (This is an example of A list talent) That's a tube ride from London!
The casting for this V the prices is terrible. Unless they get a killer name I'm not going.
Nobody's forcing you to  I think it's cracking casting so far - I'm far less interested in some 'killer name' than I am in seeing people I know are great at panto. I booked early because I trusted QDOS to load their cast with exactly such people, even if they do also throw a name or two at it to appease those for whom such things are important. |

Perhaps the London Palladium will follow the practice of this year's RSC Xmas show and have a hologram as the Fairy Godmother. By the way, isn't Lee Mead traditionally played by a woman? I seem to think Lee Mead is usually played by himself, a man. |

This thread is so funny with some of the casting expectations. And people would rather pay £100 to see Pamela Anderson instead of some of the finest entertainers in the country? And families wouldnt want that either. This cast is amazing. It's pretty much the majority of big qdos names (I wonder if there are some annoyed regional theatres this year) Also, look at the history of panto at the palladium. Its never been about big current Hollywood or music stars from America. It's always been the bigger names in variety with the occasional British pop act www.its-behind-you.com/palladium.htmlPeople often use panto as an insult, but when it's done well it's a great showcase for variety acts. It's not just about the headliners,and if you get someone who doesn't 'get' panto and isn't delivering the lines the the audience won't forgive no matter who they are. Only a few American acts are right and actually made panto a success, and ones that don't often don't return. Kids don't care about cast, unless it's maybe a cbbc name. Parents maybe want a name or two and in this initial line up you have names that are known. Paul o grady has a massive following. Also let's not forget in the initial rumours they always said the star names would be surrounded by reliable panto stars and that's what we have so far. The only name mentioned I could see as a possible would be Kylie, although I'd hope shed be fairy godmother and not cinders Joan Collins would be brilliant, especially opposite her friend paul |

Judging by what I asked Baz im guessing the sisters have been cast and it's Cinders and the fairy than haven't yet. Perhaps with another smaller female played role.

It's going to be Kimberley Walsh as Cinders isn't it? Barbara Windsor would be my guess as Fairy Godmother with Mel & Sue as the Ugly Sisters.

The last few times I have seen Cinderella (yes, I confess I'm a panto fan), Cinders has been played by a virtual unknown. I'm guessing this won't be the case on this occasion.

Panto should be fun so she should be boycotted and protested against if she were in it.

Lee Mead yikes. All the personality of a vegetable. A bit better than a plank of wood like Donovan tho. This seems to be like Elf , or War of the World's, or Alladin, something to just add to the avoid list when you see the leads cast. |

This does not end to Jan 16th.
I do wonder why there been a gap anyway in the casting. I cant see anyone being announced for a few more days. Doubt anyone next Thursday night being the referendum night. |

It doesnt but lets face it the christmas and new year bit is the important bit. If they were that desperate for a massive name im sure theyd go for them for 4 weeks out of the 5 if it made box office sense |

I wouldn't get too excited. If you look at her list of dates played (all 199!) performances from 2013 to now in her Vegas residency, she usually performs around 20/30 shows and then takes about 5-6 weeks off before going back. So I very much doubt it is a thing that will happen, her in Cinderella.
Let us not forget, Britney actually did tread the boards of Off-Broadway back in 1992/1993, as Understudy to Laura Bell Bundy in the musical Ruthless!
