I also wonder how many people are going to be disappointed when they find out that half of the music from the film has either been massively reworked or cut altogether (assuming they replicate the Broadway set-list).

That's definitely what the ATG site says. I just tried to book one ticket and in my basket it says it includes 6 glasses of champagne plus the other bits for £184.50. 6 glasses = 1 bottle of champers, probably cheap stuff. So the ticket is marked up for a £10 bottle of pop that Billy No-mates can drink in splendid isolation and wake up with a stonking headache. BTW robertb213 I didn't mean to offend with the Billy No-mates comment. Je suis Billy! |

4 months of performances nearly sold out, months in advance. Can't think of any other musical in recent memory that did that this fast?

I think DEH also did really well on that front. That said, lots of tickets 'magically' appeared nearer the time for them, so am taking all these 'fully sold out for months' bits with a huge pinch of salt. :-)

I think Hamilton sold out the first booking period of 6 months on the first day of public booking (this was after pre sale).
Also, am I the only one who DOESNT think the prices are insane? Like, yes £120+ for most of the stalls is a lot, but their top price premium is not more than all the other shows (Hamilton, Book of Mormon). In fact, this is CHEAPER than Hamilton. You couldn't get in the stalls for that for under £100 from the word go!
If it's going to be as spectacular visually as it is on Broadway, I think it's...ok?

My front stalls Hamilton tix were £89.50 (That was for front side view). That said, I was able to easily get a £40 ticket in the rear stalls during previews. No, I don't think the prices are "insane", and fortunately the Piccadilly has very good sightlines particularly in the Stalls/Dress. That's why the proportion of top price tickets is higher than for a lot of other shows. |

The fact that it's 'cheaper than Hamilton' doesn't mean it's not still overpriced. Hamilton shouldn't be £100 either.

I was fully expecting this kind of pricing so certainly wasn't surprised when I came to book. I think the appeal of this extends beyond the usual theatre crowd - the film has a lot of fans (and haters - a bit like marmite I think), and I also think the Secret Cinema Moulin Rouge (which was insanely good) has created a buzz and introduced the story to a new audience which this could well be benefitting from. I know a fair few people who aren't interested in musical theatre but who have been looking forward to this for a long time, so I suspect you have a different audience who aren't that price sensitive and don't necessarily know what normal theatre prices are. |

The fact that it's 'cheaper than Hamilton' doesn't mean it's not still overpriced. Hamilton shouldn't be £100 either. It is an indicator of current economics though. If the £100 tickets sell (which they do) then from a business perspective they absolutely should be that price. Theatre is a business at the end of the day. |

It really is selling well but they must be holding back a lot of house seats, company seats, etc.
More will definitely become available closer to the start of performances.

Yep and they will be priced at the top end too. Looks like they are holding the very front seats off sale for the moment- assuming it’s the seating inside the passerelle as in NYC |

Just received notification from Ticketmaster of "exclusive tickets" released and seeing reasonable availability for every performance I've checked from £35.25 up. |
