Surprised a thread hasn't been made of this already. Paul Taylor Mills showcasing 8 new musicals at The Other Palace in Feb under the name "MT Fest" I say new....a few are existing shows from America, like First Date, which i've personally been interested to see done over here for a while. Also a show about Jessica Fletcher and Muder She Wrote, which come on, is the best show of 2019 automatically. mtfestuk.co.uk/

It’s a little annoying that the website doesn’t even have small descriptions of the shows. I want to try a few of these out, but i’d rather pick based on a rough idea of what they’re about rather than just a title.

If you go to the MT Fest website and click on a show title, one option will be "Info" with descriptions about each show. MTFestUK.co.uk

Since they’re only 45 minutes long i’m thinking i’ll try out a few of these. But I’m A Cheerleader & Bloody Bloody Jessica Fletcher sound interesting to me. Killer Queen & Porn: The Musical too depending on how free I can make my schedule. For those that may be interested: They’ve announced a series of Nightcaps shows too with some great performers - anyone thinking of going to any of them? lwtheatres.co.uk/whats-on/mt-fest-uk-night-caps/

I'm booked in for all of the musicals, and am considering going to Rob Houchen's Nightcap and maybe Louise Dearman's as well.

I love that you can get a cheeseboard included in your ticket for the Nightcaps if you want.

Just booked in for one of the Nightcaps. I’ve never been in the Other Palace Studio before, where would be the best place for me to sit to get a good view but also not be too close? (being at the front makes me anxious!)

(being at the front makes me anxious!) For Murder for Two I sat on the back row of ‘normal’ seats which gave a perfectly good view. The very back row is made up of bar stools if you want a clear view that’s not too close.

I love sitting upstairs for the studio, they're really comfortable swivelly armchairs!

Paul Taylor Mills tweeted that the casting for the 8 musicals in MT Fest will be announced at 10am on Monday 4th, by @whatsonstage (Twitter account)
Looking forward to this as I'm going to see 2 of them.

I find the casting for The Other Palace so boring these days. Like, yes, these performers are all reliable and great performers, but they always use the same performers all the time. Why can't they switch it up and not have the same performers again and again?
I like to refer to many of these performers as "The Paul Taylor-Mills gang". 😂😂

I think this is all great but really unless you live in London or close to it or have lots of spare time and money you are probably only going to be able to catch one or two of these shows. I'd probably want to see maybe 4 of these shows but in reality i can catch one, maybe two at a push, because of the cost of travel and accommodation. I kind of wish they spread it out over several months rather than doing it all over two weeks because it's really hard for people like me to come to London that many times in such a short space, not to mention actually getting that time off work to be even able to in the first place.

The goal with MT Fest is to get people in to support the workshops of these new musicals - if the shows themselves aren't selling tickets, he's packed them full of performers that have a built-in fanbase that will flock to whatever their idol is cast in. Maybe even something they wouldn't have booked for usually. If I hadn't already booked a season pass for all of these, I would definitely be tempted by some of those names.
