A theatre mole this morning told me that Jason Donovan will play the Pharoh!!! Joseph has already been cast. This ends 08 September and the Priscilla tour starts 05 September which says he is producing. Going to be a very busy man |

Intrigued by the lack of casting so far. I would’ve hoped they would’ve done an initial casting announcement when the show was announced. Wouldn’t be adverse to someone like Luke Bayer playing Joseph, perhaps alongside names’ as the Narrator / Pharaoh

The Narrator is a big sing and needs to be able to carry the whole show. And she needs to be able to belt her face off!

So the Palladium puts out a tweet who do you want as Joseph. Donnie Osmond, Jason Donovan and Philip Schofield are constantly being mentioned. I do not think they will bring in repeat business ; ; Nor do I think Joe McElderry after seeing his performance at the Palladium on YouTube, for all his fans jumping in.

There is next to no chance it will be a significant star. And if some of these names being banded about were tempted to do theatre it probably wouldn't be this show.

The more I think about it, I reckon we’ll get MT names, but not A-Listers like some have mentioned. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a former Joseph as Pharaoh and perhaps someone with a following as Joseph (I’m thinking perhaps someone like Luke Bayer or Jamie Muscato perhaps?) with another MT name as the Narrator. Surely casting must be announce soon? |

With what is happening in theatre recently with Company and the upcoming Evita, could it be possible to cast someone from the BAME community or/and Joseph’s 11 brothers actually had a sister?
