If this trend keeps up I'd quite like to see Lee Mead as Pharaoh then. Lee Mead actually was Pharoah before he was Joseph! He played it in the 2004 Kenwright tour with H from Steps as Joseph. Oh that's right! I had it in my head that was Simon Bailey. I'm sure I saw him around that time too. There are so many to keep track of. 😅

Joe McElderry just announced as Pharoah for the Sunderland leg of tour. Guess they're going to the route of putting former Josephs in that role. He's a Michael Harrison regular at the Newcastle panto. Also been announced for Newcastle Theatre Royal.

I’m fully expecting the little local one out of Union J as Joseph and David Suchet as Pharoah in Bristol, perhaps.

Presumably with Dr Ranj as Elvis, and Gemma Collins as Narrator?

I’m hearing names like Matt Terry off of X Factor & ex-kids tv presenter/Strictly Karim Zeroual are being seen for Joseph. Not sure how true it is 🤷♂️

Suddenly very excited for this Joseph tour... which is something I'd never thought I'd say.

Christina Bianco and Adam Filipe announced as the Narrator and Joseph. I had to look Adam up, surprised it isn't more of a name.

I wonder if she will play it as a different person every night. I.e Babs one night, Celine the next, Lisa the night after. Would bring in the crowds.

Thrilled for Adam, he is such an undiscovered talent. He was fantastic in Titanic.
This may make me buy a ticket to this production, which I think is generally awful lol

Very very excited for this now I went in not sure after some of the reviews but I actually really enjoyed a lot of this production and seeing linzi again was great.
I think this cast looks brilliant definitely going to book to see this a few times I wonder if we might get the narrator keys back up again?

Well this is all great news.
Attend a Joe McElderry show and you have three leads who can properly SING! The good times are back.
Hopefully Mother Bianco will be allowed to fully put Sheridan's "comedy" to bed and belt out Pharaoh Story in the key and sustained notes it deserves.
Cast recording immediately please! (As IF.....)

Rehearsal photos released and looks like they are sticking with the format of Narrator playing other parts as there's a photo of Christina as Jacob

Well yes, it's the same production so she was always going to be doing that, like Linzi and Burke did after Sheridan...

If they didn't change anything for Linzi Hateley, who originated the (IMO iconic) 1991 Palladium version of the Narrator, I highly doubt it's ever being changed for anyone else in this production.

There was a subtle shift. Yes the blocking was the same but score wise Linzi did way more clean and sustained note hitting than Sheridan.

…but not the soaring gorgeousness of the previous production. It just doesn’t thrill being sung down there.

That was very much down to her own interpretation of the material, though. The score stayed the same. Bianco will likely put her own spin on it too, but it will be the same base. It was stunning. By far and away the best version of Joseph I’ve ever seen. Somewhat gutted we’ll never see the likes of it again. Though was very nice having the Adelphi revival!
