If anyone is in any doubt about the popularity of Linzi Hateley have a look at seat availability for Linzi's last performance on Sat 4th September matinee and then look at the evening performance. Say no more! Maybe the fact that its the last weekend of the School Holidays has a lot to do with it. Dont get me wrong I LOVE Linzi Hateley and cant wait to see her tomorrow afternoon from the front row. But for Jo Public they really are just going to see Joseph |

On this board totally agree and do not doubt that for a second. But stick up a picture of Linzi on Pointless vs a picture of Alexandra Burke and you know who will get the biggest recognition. Do you really think "general public" are saying OMG we must book to see that because she originated the part 30 years ago? You know she was the one who rocked it as Martha in The Secret Garden so grab a ticket now. Amongst Musical Theatre fans absolutely she has proven that MT names do exist and sell tickets. But is she responisble for a family kids show selling it the weekend of the last summer holidays. NAH dont see it sorry. |

Also heard an interview with Linzi tonight where she said her contract is for her scheduled shows and then if Alexandra unavailable for any of her shows, they ask her first and only if Linzi can’t do it do they fall back on the understudies.

I want to buy last minute tickets for today’s matinee, but how do I find out if the people I want to see ( well my aunt really esp Jason) are on? We don’t want to miss Jac, Linzi and Jason. Thanks.

Linzi will only be on if its one of her dates (list further back in this thread somewhere) or she is available for emergency cover.

[br If you go on the Joseph website to buy tickets there’s a black information circle on Linzi’s dates. Jac and Jason are scheduled for every show, barring illness. |

Why isn’t AB on? A scheduled LH show, assume AB has previous plans etc etc so the understudy goes on, all perfectly normal.
But why isn’t AB doing her own dates? She’s well and not self isolating as her insta shows her all round London celebrating her birthday….

But even if she isn't, the reason why is none of our business. It's between her and the producers. As punters we buy a ticket to a show hoping to see a performer but it's never a cast iron guarantee, they're not robots. You pays your money and takes your chances. |

Groan 🙄, some of us do want - and pay - to see the talent that a show’s sold on. Of course it’s our business if we’ve forked out a fortune on tkts, trains etc. Sickness is sickness and can’t be helped, but wanting to know why an advertised star is repeatedly off is very much the paying public’s business!.
Don’t advertise and try to sell tkts off the back of a ‘name’ if you don’t want people to get disgruntled when they’re off.

Performers have a right to privacy and there could be any number of reasons why a person can't perform which would absolutely not be anyone's business to know, other than the person themselves. AB seemed to suggest that she was not being permitted to perform last week- we don't know the reason and now she's back. They threw a little birthday do for her backstage last night so all seem to be on good terms. |
