Ive found a £19 ticket for this on the afternoon of west end live at the back of the stalls . Do you think its worth seeing?

Ive found a £19 ticket for this on the afternoon of west end live at the back of the stalls . Do you think its worth seeing? It's my second favourite musical. The music is gorgeous and romantic and the story is moving and heartwarming. It's just such a beautiful show and a steal to see for £19. |

Are the book scenes good and does it have a good storyline because thats important to me as well. And i've heard about a very large orchestra and I love big orchestra's The back of the stalls seat seems ages away. Have you been in this centre before? What musical would you compare it to as being similar? Sorry about all the questions lol

Sorry about all the questions lol The book is probably the part that is cited as the weakest and it's a little uneven overall if I'm honest but the themes and message make the show for me so I'm able to forgive it. I've never been to the Southbank Centre so I can't tell you what it'll be like there or whether the production will be good or anything really but the show itself is great. In terms of comparisons I'd say it's quite difficult. Recently I've been listening to The Bridges of Madison County and that gives me similar vibes. It's just a very romantic, sweeping score. I want to say it's similar to some classic musicals but I feel like those often had very bombastic, orchestral scores whereas this doesn't but in the style of singing and instruments used it is not the average 21st century musical. I suppose it is sort of similar to some Sondheim shows like Sunday in the Park with George. I'd say listen to some early songs of the cast recording to get an idea of you'll enjoy it. |

The score alone is absolutely ravishing, with some superb songs: “Fable” is one of my favourite musical theatre songs, and in the context of the show is superb, but it is packed with gems. |

Booked for the final performance. Piazza was, for me, the unexpected highlight of a NY trip years ago. For me it was the hot dogs. 🍕 🌭 |

Ticketmaster doing heavy reductions on all performances to 10th July. How far away are the rear stalls, if you're sat say in Row RR? Is it a case of needing binoculars? Very tempted as it's a great cast but I can't see the point in spending the money if you can only see them as specks on the stage! |

The two ladies who star in this (Renee and Dove) were on the Graham Norton BBC Radio 2 show this morning. They were very engaging in their conversation and they did a really good job in selling the show.

I'm really wanting to see this. Theres some discounted tickets on whats on stage and theres seats at the back of the hall but then theres these stall slips. Does anyone know if they are very restricted?

Does anyone know if they are very restricted? If you can get the front row of the side slips then you will be fine. The view won't be perfect but it will be fine. If you you can't get the front row then I wouldnt bother |

My tickets have been changed by the venue from way back in the balcony to just a few rows from the front in the stalls.
I’m guessing they might be closing the balcony, but I’m certainly not complaining!
In my opinion the tickets were originally way overpriced, particularly for a niche show like this, so maybe some lessons will be learned by the producers as a result of having to reallocate the seats in this way.

I saw the dress rehearsal tonight and was very pleasantly surprised. The score sounds glorious and some of the costumes are breathtaking.

I was going into this as more of a concert performance so wasn't too fussed if the acting was just passable but hopefully the rehearsal time allows Renee to get to a good standard. I'm not too bothered if she's just fine though as I doubt many are able to do any better than Victoria Clark. |

Yes, good offer - £15 for back of the rear stalls, and also £25 for front of the rear stalls and £35 for back of the front stalls (got offered row R and S). There's another new (I think) offer via lovetheatre - www.lovetheatre.com/theatremonkey/tickets/400292/The-Light-in-the-Piazza - not quite as generous but you can select your own seat and get front of the side blocks of the stalls for £50. |
