Booked for Sunshine at the Arcola. Love the film, James Lapine and its my local theatre - what can possibly go wrong! The theatre blows up?

Gary Wilmot and Laura Pitt-Pulford set to lead the cast, alongside Gabriel Vick, Paul Keating and Sev Keoshgerian. Looking forward to hearing Laura Pitt-Pulford sing 'Something Better Better Happen'. As Mr. Wilmot and Mr. Vick... I'm looking forward to hearing Laura Pitt-Pulford sing 'Something Better Better Happen'. (Actually hearing Mr. Vick - I mean, at all - would be a step up from his woeful performance in 'Promises Promises'... except maybe not, because the few times you COULD hear him in that show, he sang flat.)

Gary Wilmot has always put in a good performance in anything I've seen him in. Was Paul Keating in the original production of Closer to Heaven?

What I find sometimes astounding about people using this site, is how awful and unsupportive they can be towards productions they either haven't seen, or in particular before a production hasn't even started!!!
Company's such as Selladoor maybe not be as big as Cameron Mack or RUG etc, but they are putting on show after show, on tours throughout the UK and the World, and in the West End, and keeping many actors, musicians and crew in work. They should be applauded for that. Maybe one day when they reach the financial heights of the bigger named company's, they too will be able to invest more and more in their productions. Perhaps some of you are too young to remember that many years ago, even Cameron put out productions which were small scale and failed!!....
STOP moaning all the time before you've even seen a show! Just because YOU may not like a particular production, there are many others who DO.
What did my mum say?... Unless you have something constructive to say.......

Anyone see this last night? Am going to a preview tomorrow matinee and wondered what the running time was so I can catch a train after. Arcola website says 120 minutes but it ran at 90 minutes in America so I'm assuming they have chucked in an interval and that's why it's a bit longer...

I am likely to see it in Oxford - more out of curiosity than anything else - it is the writing team that attracts me more than the subject or cast

There is an interval, and 2 hours is about right.

I’m gonna declare my interest up front... I work at the Arcola* I saw the first preview last night and absolutely loved it. It has the same heartwarming feeling as the movie. The cast are superb, and the Hoover family work so well together. *I paid for my ticket, so I think I’m still entitled to an opinion

Havent seen the film but due to the cast particularly the divine LPF am booking for Birmingham. Have you found confirmation that she's doing the tour? The way I read it, she was confirmed only for the London run, though I could be wrong.

Their replacements should really have been announced by now!

Havent actually booked yet but they ought to have announced by now any replacements for the tour surely?

Yep, I thought the same the first time I read the announcement. I'll probably see this anyway, but it would be nice to have cast confirmed.

Although I can’t stop myself... this show is a proper dose of sunshine. It deals with darks themes yet really uplifts you.
