Great trailer and the dance routines look great. Not sure about Usnavi telling the story, presumably from Playa Rincón. Also the font really doesn’t do it for me. I much preferred the Broadway/UK logos.
I mean I’m going to see it loads of times but a bad logo/poster can put people off. The storytelling looking back aspect might spoil the ending that was so brilliant in the show.

Me too monkey. I saw Hamilton once and loved it but honestly felt and that once was enough but just knew I had to see In The Heights a second time. Very excited for the film. Agree with both, I must prefer it to Hamilton. It might not be the most elaborated book in the history of musicals but what a show! And the Southwark production was just perfect, such a dedicated cast, so full of energy, and don’t even let me start talking about Victoria Hamilton-Barrit, what a Star! I 100% prefer this to Hamilton. To say I was unimpressed with Hamilton is an understatement, but I absolutely LOVE In The Heights. I'm watching the trailer on repeat until the movie opens. Also, the lack of capital letters in the title of this thread is giving me anxiety issues. |

Whether or not LMM and whoever else has written a new song to be eligible for an Oscar nomination remains to be seen - unless that's been confirmed or denied anywhere?! |

I saw this at both Southwalk and Kings Cross and I agree this looks AMAZING! So refreshing and upbeat! Two questions that I hope somebody can answer: Whilst I am aware of his involvement in the show, does anyone know if Lin-Manuel Miranda actually appears on the film? and When is this released next year in the UK? He is the Piragua guy and I believe it will be out in time for 4th July It's not out in the UK until August 7th, according to Wikipedia. |

This new trailer looks great, some of the visual effects looks great. Looking forwardto see how "Blackout" is staged, have a feeling it will be immense.

I prefer the songs in In The Heights but I find the book very thin, hopefully the film should fix that and I think the trailers showcase dialogue not in the stage show so hopefully that should be the case.

I’m sorry but this is like calling out ‘Zulu’ for none of the zulu warriors being white. It’s about a neighbourhood where the vast vast majority of the inhabitants are not white. Why divert from the story by switching to Ernie the kindly white cab driver who takes his chances picking people up from ‘the heights’ for contrast. Fatuous at best.

I have seen "In the Heights" multiple times in the UK and on Broadway. I am also a light skinned mixed race person myself. I am pointing out that equality casting including colourblind casting does not mean what many people thinks it means. It does not mean casting black, Asian or Hispanic people in place of white people. It means casting talented people of any race in roles. Equality within colourblind casting should mean a decent mix of races within lead roles of the cast, regardless of the show. Equality is a two way street, it isn't the same thing as affirmative action. It is equality. |

Latino and Hispanic are ethnicities, not races. You can be white and Latino or Hispanic (unless the majority of the people from Spain aren't white now?).

This looks fantastic. I saw the show when it was at the pop up Kings Cross scenario and was just blown away and if I could see any show again then In The Heights would be up there. Interestingly from the trailer I actually feel that, though nothing can beat live Theatre for me in general, this is a show that could work even better on film. It looks spectacular to me and I imagine will be my first cinema trip since last year, actually probably before that as I don't go cinema often and can't remember the last film I watched!

I'm kind of glad that we don't get it streamed here because I really think it looks like a film you would want to appreciate in the cinema on the big screen with surround sound ect. And the idea that it will be in a full cinema as well not socially distanced....I can't wait!
