Ditto Dame Judi in Cat’s and her mysterious tendon injury which was nothing, I repeat nothing to with the fact that she couldn’t get anywhere near the notes of Memory 🙂. I'd love to have heard what she could do with Memory, but the tune wasnt even written until Miss Paige joined the show. Off topic for 9 to 5 (sorry) but in his autobiography ALW talks about Trevor Nunn and Betty Buckley having long agonising sessions about the interpretation of Memory pre the Broadway launch. Going over the meaning and nuance etc etc. All ALW wanted was the notes to be belted out as written and apparently eventually said to Betty "just SING The f****** note." Which fortunately she then did. So for Memory as least, the creator seems to be in the "singer who can act" camp.

I've said it all along, give ushers taser guns. It really would solve all the problems. And it would be fun. A win win situation all around methinks. Well, apart from the person who has been tasered I suppose. At Theatre Mogador in Paris the ushers had lasers which they used to point out seats and also to shine on phone screens which seemed really effective at getting their message across. I'm sure if those lasers were attached to Tasers then the effectiveness would increase further.

Actually the tune probably had been written, ALW just hadn't stolen it from another composer yet.... It's my understanding that once Elaine was in the show, they decided she should have a big song to use her talents and then they came up with Memory, I winder what the original ending was??

Careful, I faced much offended Snowflakery from the Snowflake brigade when I dared to express a similar opinion! How dare we say we'd rather Caroline stay on in a polite, well mannered way without actually saying anything rude about Louise, whereas over on the Waitress thread people seem to be left to say all the cruel, unjust and personal things they like about poor kat McPhees lack of acting skill, the state of her wig, accusations of how botox is impeding her ability to frown, and a daily update whether her face is moving today or not. Funny that.

It's a known fact that if a celebrity is cast in a show, always give them a couple weeks before you see them. 😂

Funny that. Actually, famous moderator BurlyBeaR has already told the crew over there to can it, and we do our best to be consistent over the whole board. If you feel we are missing something, please use the "report" function to alert us, thank you.Twice now! 😐

Uk and Ireland tour starting September 2019 A second production of the show is visiting 11 cities around the Uk and Ireland this autumn It makes out that the plan is to continue in London, but surprised they haven’t announced the extension concurrently.

I was going to say, it makes it seem like it's a tour alongside London but the WE production hasn't announced an extension....so that's weird.

I'd imagine it will close at the Savoy in the summer before the tour.

The tour announcement is great new for me. I was planning on booking for London for my 40th birthday in May. Had a quick look on the tour schedule and found its visiting the Liverpool Empire. With my ATG card discount, I get to see the show and am saving a fair bit of money in the process as I can get a front stalls seat for £21 rather than the £60 I was going to pay for the WE show. Im just glad I waited, and so is my bank balance.
