Ooooooo that last note isn't great is it! I loved her first performance audio, I'm not quite the fan of this one as much as I was! She looks beautiful though!

She sounded sensational during that song when i went last week. I thought she actually gave the best vocal performance of the show in that song. That video doesn't have much of a resemblance to what i heard from her, i couldn't really fault her.
I really think shows need to be more careful what they release because Waitress did this kind of thing when they released performances from the first week of rehearsal when clearly they aren't going to be at their best.

Are they selling the OBC in the theatre (have downloaded it but would like the CD which is over £100 on Amazon Didn't see a CD on sale. Did pick up an OBC copy for about £35 including shipping from Amazon.com (the US site, not the UK one) last week. They are running about that on Ebay too. Thanks Monkey :-) I shall check out e-bay....

Maybe it’s because it’s being filmed but I think she’s way overdoing it here and it’s affected her voice control. She definitely did it better in the performance I saw, shame. It’s definitly not going to win over the naysayers.

I wonder do the producers secretly wish Caroline Sheen could stay on.

I wonder do the producers secretly wish Caroline Sheen could stay on. Well I know all of us *not so secretly* wish she would stay.

Even not knowing what her performance will be like in comparison to Caroline, it must have cost them a huge amount just in terms of extra rehearsals, flights, accommodation etc.
Might have been a simpler decision just to carry on as they are.

They'd probably have to pay Louise off if they want to fire her though which might be more than the extra costs for bringing her back?

They'd probably have to pay Louise off if they want to fire her though which might be more than the extra costs for bringing her back? Why would they have to pay her off? I know what happened to Louise was awful and obviously beyond her control but If any of us normal folk got hired for a job and after three months had not shown up for a single days work, we would have been permanently replaced ages ago. Why would they need to pay her when all she has done is rehearse? She signed a contract saying she would start performances in January, and she didn't. Simple as. I wish her well but who is demanding their money back because she didn't appear? The show is doing great as is and I simply cant see her give half the performance Caroline has been giving. xx

She became injured while she was already employed. Of course all contracts are different, and none of us know what her's is but most employers couldn't simply fire you if you became unable to work once you'd already started. At least, not immediately. That said I agree I would like Caroline to stay. Also, would Louise even WANT to come back, given how well Caroline has been received and given how hard it can be to slot back into a company that has already gelled as it were?

I think people are getting carried away. A few people on here care about Caroline being so good but the great unwashed don’t know who she is or care. They’d probably much rather see Louise Redknapp because she’s ‘famous’. Regardless of the fact that she will (probably) be far inferior in the role.
That being said- I can’t believe the box office will have had people in tears that she isn’t on when they turn up.

She's injured and off sick, if you're signed off then you can't just be sacked. It's really difficult to get rid of someone like that. I've worked in places where it's taken years. If you've experienced otherwise then you potentially have a legal case

And this show, more than most, will get 99.9% of it's income from #TGU!

It is hard for any performer to come back when they have missed the start of the run, harder still when your replacement has had such rave reviews. It would be the case if you were a highly acclaimed theatre performer, never mind if you are Louise from Eternal. I don't envy her, still she was cast fairly on merit and she deserves her chance to put her take on the role.

When Denise Van Outen injured her foot prior to going into Chicago, we were given to believe she would be joining the show once recovered. She never did.

Ditto Claire Moore, who was supposed to be playing Carlotta in Phantom, broke her foot in rehearsals & never appeared in the show. A pity, that one.

Was anyone in for the matinee yesterday and see what happened? I was - basically someone on the front row decided it would be a good idea to get their phone out and start filming during the 9 to 5 finale number. Amber, Caroline and Natalie were not impressed AT ALL (understandably!) and pointed and shook their heads at them, singling them out - they stopped pretty quickly! They were right in the middle of the front row though so there wasn't a lot the FOH staff could've easily done.

Isn't it about time this disrespectful and unacceptable behaviour is stamped out once and for all? This is happening way too frequently nowadays. In this situation, when the perpetrator is not very accessible being in the front row, it's hard for the ushers to do anything, but I think people who are caught filming should be given one warning and if they continue filming be booted out the show. I wish it were easy to ban someone temporarily from theatre as punishment. Perhaps that would make audiences think again before trying to film/take photographs during a show.

How would that even work though? I can't imagine most of those filming are repeat attenders and would even want to go back.
I agree more needs to be done though. I am sick of theatre being ruined by idiots. Up North it tends to be drunken idiots who spoil it rather than the filmers. Some tours I will just avoid now as the behaviour is so appalling (your Mamma Mias etc.)

I've said it all along, give ushers taser guns. It really would solve all the problems. And it would be fun. A win win situation all around methinks. Well, apart from the person who has been tasered I suppose.

Ditto Dame Judi in Cat’s and her mysterious tendon injury which was nothing, I repeat nothing to with the fact that she couldn’t get anywhere near the notes of Memory 🙂. Anyway, The Producers will be insured against the star of the show taking a tumble won’t they. No one will be losing any money as a result of Louise’s no-show.
