Yeah I've just read the comment from FabiDabi Dolls and if it's true, I am done with her. "...her past views and support of her father who fiercely supports gay conversion therapy..." Do we know this for sure though? At the moment that is someone just saying that, we've not seen any evidence. So we need to be careful with that one. Actually her dad seems to have just got an MBE?! No evidence to prove the 'gay conversion' theory. He is, however, co-founder of a Christian Concern (amongst other organisations) which is actively against LGBT rights and has faught against the governments legislation for same sex marriage etc. www.christianconcern.com/our-issues/family-and-sexual-ethics

It's a bit like casting an anti-Semite in the roll of Tevye.
Why would she want to play the part? Or do religious beliefs go straight out of the window when money is mentioned?

At least one of her co-stars is openly gay. Surely she’ll have to apologize (quite profusely) or else she should be removed.

I think she should do the right thing and stand down from the role, before being forced out by producers.
It did make me contemplate a wider issue though. Only a week or two ago, people who heavily critical about auditionees having to provide their social channels. Something like that would surely have prevented a situation like this...

I bet she's gutted these came to light too, because no one will want to work with her after this unless she justifies her actions or apologises in some way. You can't have this kind of behaviour in the industry, especially one that is made up of so many gay people!

I am no lawyer, but could they actually fire her for this without risking to be sued?

I am no lawyer, but could they actually fire her for this without risking to be sued? well if she or anyone connected to her ever threatened to sue, it would generate more backlash on her. Because this is all her fault, and no one else's. And what she has done is hate speech, and the Curve will get backlash if she is still in the production. I don't imagine she would want to sue because her career is already tarnished, why would she make it worse? Although at the same time, she may have nothing to lose, so why not.

I mean i think she should totally step down, I was only wondering if there is legal ground for firing her.

Bless her heart though. We all thought she looked so nice and sweet in her little white dress in The Color Purple concert at Cadogan Hall. Little did we know...

Other performers have started responding to this story. A great response from Lucie Shorthouse!
I actually found Lucie's response once I saw her comment on this discussion:

Literally what is that clown talking about.
Also - RE Shenton and Curve. Nikolai banned him from Curve for some reason, so none of the National critics turned up to Leicester for Les Mis Press Night - which is why the press night happened in dublin...

My sentiment exactly.
This must be a nightmare for their PR team, because all this sh*t on twitter is from this one story revolving around this disgraceful story.

I'm not sure the production company has any legal rights over her life before she met them, so they'd possibly be on thin legal ground if they "fired" her for this.
Chances are they'll have a nice little chat tomorrow morning, and come to a "mutual" decision..... one where she gets a part in a future production, but bows out of this one.

I agree Seriously I think that is what will happen. It is what is best at this point. There ahs been a massive backlash on social media toward her and the show for casting her. What would be best for both parties is to remove her from this production and it would be in her best itnerest to make an agreement to maybe do another production at some point or just leave all together. Because even if she stayed, no one in the cast will want to work with her I imagine, and it is a tarnished opinjon regardless if she apologises or not. In terms of Curve and Hippodrome, I wouldn't even include her feelings in the statement. They need to just say this isn't happening anymore because of recent events, done. The apology needs to come from her and her alone as this is not the producers, cast, crew or team members fault or indicretion, its all on her and she should be the one to bear the brunt.

Literally what is that clown talking about. Also - RE Shenton and Curve. Nikolai banned him from Curve for some reason, so none of the National critics turned up to Leicester for Les Mis Press Night - which is why the press night happened in dublin... The reason was that he continuously talked crap about them. Why welcome someone who didn't support them and was continuously finding ways to put them down and criticise on twitter and in articles? Even in some cases seeming to create an article or tweet subject just so it can get a jibe in. He's even made jibes about how it looks and called it "the least appealing place to be in the world". He tweeted a special twitter review, not an official one, of AOAAG that basically called it a travesty it made it to the stage and has implied he doesn't think that Curve should be getting it's arts funding. Seeing as he hates the programming and theatre so much, he wouldn't have been interested to come anyway, so he can't really have an issue with it. I imagine they are the not the only ones who's like to ban him but probably the only ones who had the guts to to do it. I'd ban him from any theatre that i attend personally, let alone if i run one. And your (and his) mate Mr Woodward too LOL.
