I am very suspicious of those row N seats! Why are they so cheap!? The seats in the row in front are £85 on the date I just checked! There's no warnings about them being restricted view or bench seating or anything - is it a mistake or just a real bargain?

I think it is just a means of allowing some lucky folk cheap stalls, in the same way the Grandage Season does at the Noel Coward, for example. I'm hoping so. The tickets in general are so expensive, I had been thinking I might not get to see it!

They've released seats in Stalls row N for £20. Just got mine! This is why I love the Theatre Board. People giving us heads up to things so thanks so much theatrefan77. I have just nabbed 2 of those seats as well. I have my niece coming to stay at that time for a few days and so far we have Sweet Charity, Jamie, Hugh Jackman and we had Fiddler pencilled in for the Friday as she really fancied seeing it. As the tickets were generally expensive (well for decent seats) I said we should hold off and hope for offers but now I have been able to get a couple of bargains and our weekend is complete. I am hoping these are not rubbish seats, but as mentioned there is nothing to say they are restricted so maybe ATG just being kind. Thanks again.

Right. I assume it's just the same thing as the small number of rear-stalls seats ATG are selling for £16 for The King and I and Book of Mormon in Manchester. I'll find out in May, but there's no pillar or restriction on the seat plan, and I bought the ticket in person from the Playhouse box office so I assume if it was being sold as restricted view it would have been pointed out to me.

Could it be that they'll be funny views because of the layout, hence the low price? Although it looks like a slightly different seating plan to the Menier so it's hard to picture it.

Thanks for the tip on Row N, I can justify £20 + fees much more than £85 + fees!

You are all welcome! Good to know some of you have booked those seats too. I don't think they will be bad at all or they would have issued some warning about restriction.

Received an email from Menier advising of extra seats released including four in the front row for Fiddler ( £52.50 ). Grabbed two immediately for son and I while he's home from uni !
Bookable via the Menier website. As I type this some or all of front row stalls seats A16 to A19 are available for most dates

Is this not selling as well as expected? Offers seem to be prolific. And working as I've booked tickets that previously were way too expensive to consider

Looking at the app today, it appears that TodayTix will be doing £25 Rush Tickets for this.

Feel extremely lucky to have caught this at the Menier, especially given the crazy prices for stalls seats. Will be interested to hear from anyone who sits row-A stage left how the stage is situated. Is there any word on day seats for this yet?

I saw Fiddler on the Roof and have to say it’s such a great show, it’s one of the few classics I haven’t seen, it’s a story that is still revelant in this climate and a lot of themes will resonate with people.
Andy Nyman is great as Teyve, I think it’s a character that has to balance the humour with the more serious moments but he pulls it off effortlessly. Judy Kuhn is also very good as Golde as is Stewart Clarke and the rest of the cast. I do plan to go again before it closes
Oddly there was a lot of children where I was sitting in the upper circle, all were fine but it’s not the sort of show I would have thought that parents would bring their kids to

Planning a trip with my daughter to this. What is the Stalls layout like in terms of the staging? Is it traverse, thrust or some hybrid?

Yes, I’m intrigued about this too. Have booked for Stalls row A and whilst it seems to be sort of facing the stage, it looks like it faces away from most of the traverse stuff which runs through the auditorium.

A quick look on social media displays quite a lot of pics of the current auditorium set up. The show seems to be set on the stage like any other production with the stage at normal height. However there is a large walkway of stage height out through the audience in the stalls. The side of the auditorium seems to have set also. The walls and wallpaper have all been covered up. The stalls seems quite immersive while the other levels appear to be as normal.

This was just ok. It's entertaining enough but nothing special really. I've seen much better productions.
The Stalls area was immersive and there were lots of times when we had some of the actors next to us which was nice. The main problem is the rake, or lack of. The stage is very low and if you get somebody tall in front you won't see a thing, or you will see very little. I was fine, but lots of people around me were really struggling.
Andy Nyman does a decent enough job as Tevye, but I was disappointed by Judy Kuhn as Golde. She was a bit on the bland side and you don't believe for a minute that Tevye is a bit afraid of her. The rest of the cast are no more than adequate.
The dream sequence was very poorly staged and I'm not really sure why they went for a man in drag to play Grandma Tzeitel.
Stalls row N gives a nice view of the stage as long as you don't someone tall in front. Good value for £20.

Let's hope I have someone like Elaine Paige sitting in front of me.
