To reiterate my earlier post, please could we stop negatively commenting about the character and finances of individuals. Also, speculating about the viability of other productions is unfair to those productions and the theatres promoting them. Please stick with what is in the public domain from verified sources, this does not include Twitter.

It was the worst show I have ever seen on tour. I'm not sheading any tears.. people need to pay up or lose out. Simple business just sorry for the young cast members crew and band. Do the audience get their money back?

Although cash flow can be tricky, especially if venue do not release ticket revenue promptly, I can't believe anyone still thinks it's ok to ask artists/ creatives to wait for their money.
Orbital is a very reputable company, though I wonder why they took on this contract given the circumstances. (And most big suppliers do talk to each other about bad debts).
My heart goes out to all the people working on the show who suddenly find themselves out of work through no fault of their own. I hope they all get new jobs very soon.

It's disgraceful how the whole situation has been handled. I really feel for the whole cast involved who have suddenly had their jobs pulled from them and left unemployed for three weeks which they wouldn't have accounted for as they were still due to be in the tour. Likewise, I also hope they all find the jobs they all deserve to have as it was a talented cast.

Also theatre staff at the 3 venues could have lost wages and the venues lose a lot of anticipated revenue. Wolves Grand on their website said the show had pre-sold over 4,000 tickets for it's week there. For a long running tour and in the summer that was a decent return especially as this was a none Kerry week I think.
The show seemed to be doing decent business so something has gone wrong somewhere and if producers keep getting bad reputations then people will refer to this.

Sounds like there was a lot on non-financial issues on top of this. The MD tweeted that he was left responsible for printing sign-in sheets for the cast so it seems like a very poorly organised tour.

Just been reading a blog about it. No money to buy replacement costumes so they had to be repaired by hand, even socks! Then the cast were asked if they wanted to buy their own costumes, after they'd just been told they were out of a job. Beggars belief really!

Although I wouod say that repairing costumes is normal (socks less so...) as is selling off costume to cast members if you don't intend a future life for a production. I think cast members tweeting they are "skint" is far worse. Coming out of a large scale UK tour "skint" is dire.

Thanks ff, that blogger is clearly as nervous about naming names as I am! Frank Wildhorn must be distraught at all this. He was so genuinely excited about it at his concert in Manchester before the tour started

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of "Wonderland (Alice's New Musical Adventure)"? It's the concept album prior to the Broadway cast recording and still has most of the original Broadway cast featured. I'm struggling to find a reputable seller online and remember someone on here said they had bought one quite easily on here but can't find the original post.

Show did seem a bit random with several of the cast doing 6 out of 8 shows a week and often on as different roles. If you wanted to see a certain combo then it was also get on twitter and ask. My biggest sympathy would be with the ensemble and younger cast members who are owed money.

Yes there was lots of a cast member tweeting they were on certain shows and the official twitter posting something else. For instance they told me Rachel wasn't doing the York matinee so I didn't go. Turns out she was always booked to do that show. Annoying.

My biggest sympathy would be with the ensemble and younger cast members who are owed money. And the musicians, engineers, crew, costumiers, etc. And the freelancers not on contracts involved in the production, such as engineers who come to break the show down, pack it in a truck and then put it into the next theatre. And the transport companies who provide the haulage of the show around the country. And many many more individuals and organisations. All of these people are owed money, most of them without firm confirmation that they will get paid.

Forgot to post my thoughts on this. I thought it was a delight. The plot was threadbare, and there were some silly superfluous moments, but I thought the songs were catchy and the cast did their utmost with the material. The set was decent and the costumes impressive. Kerry Ellis has a fantastic voice. Wendi Peters was super too- she's got a great stage presence. We had the understudy as the Mad Hatter, Francesca (I think) and her voice was incredible. There were a few technical faults (the show had to be stopped three times) due to a malfunctioning 'looking glass'. Having read some of the reviews here, I almost didn't buy tickets but I found it thoroughly enjoyable and it was definitely one of the most joyful things I've seen this year. The crowd was modest but people seemed to have really enjoyed it. As for this sorry premature end to the tour, it's awful to read. Such a shame for the cast and those who had bought tickets for the rest of the tour.

Bitter for being treated like sh*t?? I can't blame her personally but you do you. Tis a shame the cast probably aren't allowed legally to say anything about the goings on, cause based on some of their tweets, they wanna say soooo much. And deservedly so, he who shall not be named deserves to be called out on what he has done in my eye.

Well, I don't know, Burly, it is good to be warned of suspect goings on in the business. I designed a big panto a few years back, with decent names, and sure enough after a few shows, the leading man walked as he had not been paid, nor had any of us received a penny. Then there was a fire in the theatre and the costumes mysteriously ripped, but still no money, and nowt we could do. It happens, but it happens all too often, when things are not right from the start.
Just as I was asked to write a big feature film script. Two years ago I delivered the script, which they love, and I am still waiting for even a single penny. It's hard to trust people, these days, and especially all the jobs on the legit pages that advertise jobs with no pay, but will be good for the CV. How dare they!

It's a free country, she doesn't owe the producers anything, she's entitled to say what she likes (and let's face it, twitter is partly made for venting). Why should she be required to be any more loyal to them than they clearly were to her?
