I got a rush ticket on the front row to see this last night on my own as I seen that Lisa was on as Glinda and really wanted to see her.
I have to say she was brilliant! She really milked the comedy parts and got some of the most laughs for a Glinda that I’ve seen in a while. She has a brilliant voice too, very classical at points.
Lucie was also great as always, but as bad as I feel saying it again, Ryan Reid was…not. This really isn’t the role for him in my opinion.
Apart from that, it also turned out to be quite a stressful visit for me despite having a great front row seat. I won’t bore you all, but I had a little girl behind me constantly kicking my seat throughout the show, with her parents never telling her off despite my many passive aggressive turning around and looking at them…they literally just looked at me blatantly and still allowed her to do it! People just have no manners.
To top it off as well, a man in the toilets tried to start an argument with me about who had the claim to a cubicle…It’s a shame when a great show can be ruined by the other people who chose to go that night.

Is everything alright over at Wicked? Helen never seems to be on (ongoing illness?), Lucie also off quite frequently from following the westendcovers twitters, and now a returning (2nd?) cover Elphaba when they have a standby and two understudies for the role.

Judging by Lucie's cryptic tweet and the responses it got earlier, looks like tonight was a no fly show.

In nearly 40 visits I recently had my first no fly show, it was Laura Harrison’s first Elphaba show and she smashed it. As soon as I realised I was so excited, like a child on free ice cream day!

I have a friend who is in London for work this week from the US. She loves Wicked (as do I) so she booked (and was somehow able to expense) central row E seats in the stalls for yesterday's matinee (my first ever Sunday matinee!).
It was my first time seeing Lucie Jones and having heard very mixed reviews, I thought she was excellent. The best acted Elphaba I've seen, a great voice and amazing to see her performance so up close. We had Lisa-Anne Wood as Glinda who was better in act II but is pretty serious as far as Glindas go in act I and doesn't seem to remain in character when she's not the centre of attention. Her natural facial expression is pretty un-Glindaesque.
I loved Fiyero, what a great addition to the cast who really brings something new. I had high hopes for As Long As You're Mine but a very bum high note near the beginning put me on edge for the rest of the song. In general though he was my favourite since Oliver Tompsett.
We could hear everything and it was good to be enveloped in sound as I expect to be at a big musical so a top tip is to pay £100 a ticket if you want to hear anything (this is obviously a joke, the sound issues are ridiculous at the AV)!
Overall I thought the show looked the best it has in a while but I also think I may be influenced by sitting in seats I would never normally buy! Lots of immaculately behaved children around me, not much eating, no getting up during the show. Almost a dream visit!

Jennifer DiNoia has announced she is leaving Wicked in three weeks time. With Jenny we're never sure if this is truly her final goodbye to Elphaba, but I certainly wish her the best!

After focusing on the weak west end live performances thought one of the strongest should get some recognition. I'm not even a wicked fan really but lucie Jones was incredible

Completely agree, the boat has mostly sailed with me for Wicked but Lucie looked like she was having the time of her life and really sold everything with an incredible vocal ...
... Almost tempts me to book to see it again !!
