Just thought id let everyone know that the OG Elphaba - Idina Menzel is performing tonight 16/11/19 at G-A-Y Heaven. I feel its gonna be busy because she is such a well-known broadway legend but yeah !!!

She’s got quite a potty mouth on her too so I’m sure she’ll go down well at G-A-Y 😃

Judging by Instagram it looks like Laura is currently on holiday. There’s a chance Rebeca Gilliland will make her Elphaba debut this week as she’s recently had her cover run.

I feel its gonna be busy because she is such a well-known broadway legend but yeah !!! It was the Frozen 2 European premiere tonight, held in South London. I stumbled across it and saw Idina walk down the white carpet. My inner Elphaba fangirl rejoiced!

Tonight's the night for Rebecca, according to West End Understudies and Wicked London News on Twitter - oh, and Rebecca herself, of course!

Rebecca Gilliand is on as Elphaba for the evening show tonight. I believe Nikki Bentley was on for the matinee!

They must have an emergency standby at this stage, wonder who it would be?

They must have an emergency standby at this stage, wonder who it would be? Currently they have Rebecca Gilliland (1st u/s) and Rebecca Botherill (2nd u/s) to use for Elphaba (as far as I know!). I think they only use an emergency cast member if they’re down to one don’t they?

Audios of Rebecca Gilliand's debut performance are up on YouTube at the moment. I must say that she sounds amazing! A lot of her performance reminds me so much of Jemma Alexander!

What's the harm in that?
Worse interests to have.

What's the harm in that? Worse interests to have. Surely not much depth for a specialist subject on Mastermind though! But I guess if they accepted it they must have been able to come up with enough tricky questions, presumably covering the books and the show!

The lady taking part thought Kerry Ellis had played both Elphaba and Glinda on the west end.

Well I managed to answer most of those correctly apart from some of the book ones.
I think I screamed internally when she said Kerry Ellis and not Louise Dearman.

Pretty sure Kerry Ellis auditioned for the role of Glinda? I can see where she could have got that answer from.

Wicked was my favourite musical for a long time but watching Mastermind last night made me realise that a) it's been nearly 10 years since I last saw it and I don't remember it as well as I thought and b) I would quite like to read the book.
Think I really need to go again to see if it holds up to my memories of it.

Think I really need to go again to see if it holds up to my memories of it. The book's weird. I read it before seeing the musical, and I kept thinking "How on earth have they managed to make this into a musical?" The answer is that whoever wrote the musical's book dispensed with the endless sexual stuff and brain numbing waffle, and went with the bare bones of the story...thank goodness!
