A friend told me that Charli was confirmed, and they are usually quite reliable with this type of information. (If it turns out she isn’t the new standby, I apologise for the false information)
As for Laura, I just think on the whole that most of the people who had joined in 2017 or earlier would be leaving this cast change.

The other name who I heard got to the final stages of auditioning is perhaps best known for a show Wicked have traditionally got lots of Elphabi from. What show ? WWRY ?

I hadn’t heard of Sabrina before but just watched some videos on YouTube and she has a fantastic voice. I could definitely see her in the role.

Can someone kindly supply, at the very least, the first initial of the speculated American green girl? (Worth a shot)

Okay, the confirmation of Charli being the new standby turned out to be very untrue, so it honestly could be anyone.
Sam Thomas is possibly doing another year as cover Glinda.

At this point I'd guess that Charli is probably the new standby, but she's just serving in an unofficial capacity until cast change when they announce her officially?

Will this tour again ?

Yes at some point. It is a cash cow and it would be silly never to tour it again. Although I bet any further tour productions will be scaled down to cut costs.

They’ve already got pencilled dates, it will indeed be scaled down and will visit some theatres not previously accessible.

A scaled down version of Wicked. Eww. It’s scale is one of the appealing factors presumably. What will happen at the end of Act 1? Does she just stand on a stool something?
Maybe they’re thinking that now they’ve built a nationwide following for it they can send any old thing out and people will still flock.

If it is scaled down will the increasingly insane prices for theatre tickets be scaled down proportionately?I think we all know the answer. If football is no longer a working-class sport due to pricing does that now mean that theatre is no longer a middle-class pastime?

I’d imagine the downsizing would be similar to Kinky Boots having a smaller, less complex set for its UK tour, and I think cutting down on the number of cast members. As it is, the last tour had the same actor sharing the roles of Wizard/Dillamond which I imagine will stay for the next tour.
