But it is a deceptively simple show in the first place. Like it’s wizard, it’s all smoke and mirrors. It has a few monkeys on wires and a witch on a stick. That’s it. Excessive volume helps (or doesn’t if you’re in a dead spot) but I don’t believe its scale & size has anything to do with its success. I think visiting smaller houses is a great idea as long as the sound system is sympathetic to them.

A smaller scale/new places tour makes sense but I don't see it happening for a long while yet.
Remember, the last tour was marketed as "the last time to see the show in Manchester" etc.

Michael McCabe’s speech when the tour closed in January suggested that was it. The 1st UK tour, international and then 2nd UK tour were all planned as one continuous tour and there wasn’t any suggestion of another. When the 1st tour closed he said in as many words that they’d be back on tour again.
It wouldn’t make sense to go back out after such a recent run I can’t see them scaling back any further, the UK tour mirrors the 2nd National tour in the US.

Hi everyone, im looking to see wicked in London but looking at the prices I don't think they're any hidden gems for pricing because the only cheap seats are at the back and I've heard bad reports. Has anyone got any advice on getting cheap seats on a Saturday?

Has anyone got any advice on getting cheap seats on a Saturday? Yeah, don't go for the seats at the back. As far as I know, not that I look at Wicked tickets a lot nowadays, there aren't any discounts for a Saturday where you can book in advance right now. Wicked is normally at the ticket booths in Leicester Square but then you risk not getting tickets if you're buying them a few days in advance or on the day. If you have to book in advance I'd recommend the cheaper seats on the fair right hand side of the stalls, you'll have a slightly restricted view but it's not terrible, especially if you've seen the show before. Check SeatPlan for photos from the views.

Oh yeh I remember you saying that on your really helpful video but the side stalls sell out if you don't book in advance! Can you still see the white backdrop at the back or is it not that extreme?

there will definitely be some downscaling. The last I heard, 2022 was mentioned to me as a touring year for Wicked. but this previous tour wasn't as big a success as the first (a success yes, but not to the same extent) so I imagine there will be some downscaling to cut a few costs here and there.

There are still a couple of single end of row seats for £45 the Saturday after next. One of them would be fine...great even!

It seems a very long time ago that those seats were an absolute steal at fifteen pounds.
The prices in general have risen so much in recent years and there are premium seats at weekends for over two hundred pounds each! TWO HUNDRED POUNDS!
I can understand the huge demand, even at those prices, at the theatre over the road but for Wicked?!

Not really no. The bigger issue is the staging in a few scenes so you end up with cast members blocking your view of the action. Not enough to warrant spending more. The extreme left hand side is a no-no though. You totally miss all the witches house stuff.

On a Saturday probably not but it's always worth a go, they might offer you a remaining "normal" ticket cheap(er) if front row has sold out . They are more likely to if you are a student.
It's not a high stage but view is slightly restricted the further to the side you go. The best seat is the nearest to the middle you can get.

Sophie Evans has posted on Instagram that she is going to Las Vegas in 15 weeks (end of July / start of August) ... could be a sign she’s leaving?

Considering cast aren’t allowed holiday for a certain period at the start of a new contract, I would say your deduction skills are second to none. 😑😂

If she does stay would the not taking holiday at the beginning of the contract rule apply to her since she’s been there a couple of years? I guess I’d the standby is brand new and not fully rehearsed...

the other thing remembering if she is gone for 15 weeks, she'd likely miss their press night.
