I don't think it was a OMG THE BEST EVER performance by a long way. True, her best is still the one with Gina that got deleted from youtube a while ago and I miss it so much. I should have downloaded it when I had the chance

Haven't read any responses since I last posted on this thread so sorry if this has already been said. Is any one else that bought the special edition brochure pissed off theres no actual cast list or bios in it? Feel really ripped off.

My friend who was there bought one for me.

No because that's all in the programme.
I was told, when I queried the price, that "this isn't a programme. It's a photo album!"
Those balloons won't pay for themselves you know; )

I don't think it was a OMG THE BEST EVER performance by a long way. I wanted to fast forward to the "surprises" at the end. Erm... Also hated not being able to see performers expressions or, well, see anything at all really. I don't think it was the best performance ever, but I think it was one of Rachel's best. The ensemble brought the overall rating down though. The £1 I spent for the opera glasses in front of me was the best value I've had in a long time - practically watched the whole show through them to see the facial expressions and that added a lot to the show for me. No idea why anyone would ordinarily pay full price to sit that far back, and I was only row H - I dread to think what the view and sound quality would be like from the back row! Stalls only for me from now on!

So did anyone meet a fellow theater boarder tonight before/after the show? Pretty certain I did. (Row W, you were sat with my two friends perhaps? I was a few rows ahead.) Ended up going after all, hobbling up the steps to the back of the dress circle was a mission. I'll regret going for the pain it's caused me but I'd have regretted missing it more than that, so... Who? Me? Impossible, wasn't there hahaha.

Yeah thst endeing was the point where I pretty much had an emotional breakdown... it was incredible, it was like being at a concert where people didnt cheer, they screamed. And the whole audience in unison screamed and rose at once! Incredible!

I've calmed down slightly now after my long drive home and it was still a great night despite there being no sing-song at the end... although can you imagine negotiating with ALL those agents as to who gets which line!?
Never seen Rachel and I was very impressed, for me I much preferred her acting to the singing, lots of it just felt forced - the end of DG was great but it doesn't beat Willemjin's rifftastic last show. Although that said the standing ovation was deserved and first time I've ever seen one after DG!
Loved Susie - a proper soprano and the only person to come close to Kristin Chenoweth with power in those upper notes! Comedy timing and a hilarious Popular!
Nothing else really to say about the rest except Anita Dobson is badly cast as Morrible, someone mentioned panto villain and that's a good discription. There was no menace, lines just thrown away and totally out of her depth.
Boq - looked more interested in Fiyero than Glinda/Nessa. Quite a high pitched voice which actually sounded like Glinda when he spoke! Think we've been spoilt with some great Boqs in recent times so perhaps being too critical but didn't like the new guy sorry!
Lovely finish with Stephen Schwartz coming on stage and so many Elphies there!! It was such a missed opportunity but I did have my first balloon drop and I snuck into the stalls to steal one.
Commemorative programme is lots of photos but nice souvenir of every lead cast since the beginning plus some extra stuff too. Guy selling them after the show said they'll all be gone by end of the week, it's a "grab them while you can" exclusive!

Susie did remind me a lot of Kristin Chenoweth, more so than any other Glinda I've seen!

Ah, so this is how you learned to play that song in Groundhog Day so fast. Have you any other shows recorded in full? Would love to hear Groundhog Day again.

I am still shaking and have been since Defying Gravity... I truly think the holy spirit entered me when she hit that final note, I have never felt like that in the theatre! Lots of screaming, grabbing the poor guy next to me and crying. Luckily the corner I was sat in, when the lights came up, most of them were pretty much hyperventilating like me and crying, even the men!
The slightly worrying thing, someone could literally of been murdered in that audience and we would not of known the difference with the level of screaming and noise in that theatre!

Same. I'd be really pissed had I flown over.
Not sure if it was already posted or if I've simply overread it: Who was exactly seated in the Stalls? Former cast members? Z-list celebs?

Former cast members. Journalists. Bloggers. Random celebrities like Sam Fox, Liz from Atomic Kitten and a woman from Eastenders...

She reminded me a lot of Megan Hilty's portrayal. She was the revelation of the night for me.
