To honour the best stage debut in history, we should call it The Sarah Harding Theatre.

So is there any info on which shows the alternate will do?

We have no reference on this guys singing then? Has he done any? Doing some research on him and he's had some TV success in america and seems a good comedy actor. He was exceptional in THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at the Donmar.

Wikipedia
In 2012, Nimax's plans to build a new theatre in the Astoria's site were approved.[9] It is unknown whether the theatre will be used for music as well as dramatic purposes. The former site of the Astoria cannot be built upon until 2017 due to the site being needed for Crossrail.
Wow a new West End theatre - I do hope this will happen. If Nimax are on board I do think this will be for theatre rather than music no?

The theatre's already been earmarked as part of the new development that will be built above Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station.

They performed at the Radio 2 Proms in the Park this afternoon and sounded great. They performed 2 numbers - Teacher's Pet and Stick It To The Man.

Here are the songs from the BBC Prom in the Park tonight, (catch-up available until 10 October) www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07th75j (Introduced by Andrew Lloyd Webber about 59 mins in) David Fynn and the kids sounds great! I've only heard Alex Brightman sing "You're in the Band" and "Stick It To The Man" and it doesn't sound like he's trying to imitate him, nor Jack Black for that matter.

Which shows does Alex miss on Broadway? Are we to assume that it will follow that pattern here and those are the days our lead will make way for the alternate too? I want to book for a matinee really but have a sneaky suspicion i'd probably miss David by doing so.

Is it a particularly demanding role? It is very demanding and Dewey barely leaves the stage. Alex Brightman informally had an alternate for much of his run, and they didn't make it public until recently. (Will Blum does all three matinees.) Not sure David Fynn will be allowed to take both Matinees off though. Personally, I could see the alternate do the Thursday Evening and Saturday Matinee. But again, that's just a guess.

I hope he doesn't take both matinees off. One of the gripes I have with some performers is that they openly consider the evening performance to be more important than the matinee, and thus miss the matinee or put less effort into it. Yes, the alternate can be great, but if a cast/performer puts less effort into a performance, shouldn't that performance be priced accordingly? If the cast/cast member isn't giving a full performance why should the audience pay full price? It's more rare now, I think, for a lead to miss both matinees, so I doubt it will be an issue for School of Rock.

I know this show uses dynamic pricing but I was interested to note that not all the prices had risen immediately after the date advertised as the end of the preview period - for instance, seats at £29.50 were available in the preceding week AND in the first week supposedly at the higher prices.

I think they are still testing the water, the ticket I got for £15 (implying it would be £25 after previews) is actually £75 after previews now!

It does seem to be a complete lottery. Although I could have waited for a later date at the same price, I decided to go earlier nonetheless to fit in with a cheaper ticket for something else on the same day. If it's anything like BILB or Groundhog Day, who knows when the final version will be decided upon.

Have succumbed and booked for the second preview, a £39.50 seat at the end of Row N as I have a spare night in London. Haven't actually heard a note of music from this, but I really like going to a show knowing nothing about what I am going to hem ear. Last time I did that was Memphis - hopefully this will turn out as well as that did!

There's a few picture on Twitter of the full marquee up at the theatre now - full on signs going across the side and front of the theatre now! Never been done before at this theatre, I believe? Also, the previous shows usually take up around 4 "glass strips" but this one is about 8? Very big difference but looks great!

I like the bigger sign. Firstly as there is no way not to notice the show, but also as it takes away the fullness of the glass facade.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet or not, but they'll be doing £10 Student Rush tickets on Wednesday evenings: "Want to get a real education? Students get £10 tickets every Wednesday evening! Available in person only from 6.30pm with valid ID at the New London Theatre box office. Limited availability, some performances will be excluded. Pay in cash only." uk.schoolofrockthemusical.com/tickets/

Hoping they also have a normal dayseat policy. Cautious to book a cheaper ticket in advance due to potential sightline problems.
Looks like the front row isn't on sale yet so fingers crossed!

Front row is on sale (assuming Row A is the front) - assume it's already sold for earlier dates but picked 1 December (matinee) at random and there it is.
