Sorry, meant to ask, is there a triple bill missing? The blurb keeps mentioning 20 plays but the site only shows 17. Oh yes, well spotted. I wonder what the explanation is. The count of 20 is wrong anyway as they could (and have) included some of his radio and TV plays subsequently adapted for the stage. Of the one-act plays written for the stage “Silence” is missing, others too I think.

Scheduling is a bit annoying with no weekend matinees for a few of the pairings.

I've booked a few cheap seats, but when I tried to click through to get the multibuy discount I got an 'insecure connection' message so didn't do it. How much was the discount and is it worth pursuing?

According to the website, 10%, so worth more if you were buying pricier tickets!

Hmm, not sure if it'll cost more phoning them than I might get back!

The website says that these will be rehearsed readings and complete the season. The show schedule does not yet include them. So I suppose we need to keep our eyes peeled!

the £10 stuff is only in the upper parts of the house. I think the restricted stalls seats were nearly twice the price for The Birthday Party than they are for this.

Not quite - the row O pillar seats were £25 for Birthday Party (although maybe I saw a preview?) and are now £35 I think. Although maybe Row N was also £25 and now dropped to £15. Shame the same pricing isn't in place for the whole set though!

Oh I see, I must have picked the more expensive productions, trust me!

Annoying pairings mean I have to go 6 out of the 7 nights to see 1 new play in each of the 6! Only skipping Lover/Collection. I am very fond of Suchet but saw them not that long ago with the excellent Gina McKee.
So I've got my tickets for all the others, no discount applied??? It's going to be an expensive season when flights are factored in. And I'm still missing The Dwarfs, Tea Party, The Basement and Night School!!!

This cast is not a company of world class creatives: Ron Cook, Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, Tamsin Greig, Jane Horrocks, Celia Imrie, John Macmillan, Emma Naomi, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Abraham Popoola, David Suchet and Nicholas Woodeson. It’s the same boring list of people that always get cast in such things Indeed - Danny Dyer that mainstay of West End Theatre!
For those who don't know, Pinter was apparently a massive fan of Dyer.

Dyer's a good actor who found a niche to pay bills (EastEnders, those football hooligan films) and I am really looking forward to seeing him on the stage. I will post this in the unpopular opinions thread too 😀
The career someone like Danny May has is feasibly where Dyer could have ended up but by his own admission he likes acting but he likes being paid well better.

Thanks for this. Looks like the seats are row M between the pillars, a couple behind in row N, and front row A. Think I might chance it on one of the middle of the pillars seats, although I see from TM's site that they are not staggered, so if you're stuck behind a tall person, you could be in for a bit of a difficult night sightline-wise.

Dyer is like a real-life Pinter character, I’m not surprised at all Pinter liked him so much.

Yes, I overheard some men talking about this on the tube this afternoon. They said that Pinter thought Danny Dyer was the best actor of his generation. They were speculating about whether Pinter was taking the you-know-what. I forgot that I meant to look this up as soon as I got home so it’s good to have you confirm it.

I f***ing love Danny Dyer for many reasons and this is one of them- the honesty with which he speaks about being in theatre but leaving to do crap tv (pre-Eastenders) because he had a family and bills to pay. I don't watch it but I gather he's very good in Eastenders and I wish the fella the best of luck bridging quality tv/film/theatre. I also love that Danny Dyer is unapologetically Danny Dyer in every situation.

However “every situation” includes every role he’s ever played as far as I can see - his one character happens to fit well with Pinter though.

I honestly couldn't profess any encyclopedic knowledge of every role Dyer has ever played, however he'd hardly be the first actor to have a particular niche of character. Indeed his Pinter co-star Martin Freeman has made a career out of that as well.

Freeman is a problem though, his Richard III was awful and he’s given some quite unpleasant interviews recently which indicate he’s got an unjustifiably high opinion of himself.

Freeman to be frank puts me off the Pinter. As much as I can tolerate his usual roles on tv etc, Richard III was indeed awful. And while I obviously don't know the man, I also agree he doesn't exactly come over as a humble friendly sort in interviews....
