I suppose I'm a Pinter completist - but as such I actively welcome the chance to see some of the plays again even though I've seen them several times before. However, I'll only do so if TodayTix offers cheap front row seats like they did for The Birthday Party, it is a rotten theatre.

This cast is not a company of world class creatives: Ron Cook, Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, Tamsin Greig, Jane Horrocks, Celia Imrie, John Macmillan, Emma Naomi, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Abraham Popoola, David Suchet and Nicholas Woodeson. It’s the same boring list of people that always get cast in such things  |

A fairly simple Booking process, got the same seat for all 7, officially impoverised.(Could have been a bit more generous on the multiple play discount)

Would have been officially bankrupted if I'd booked for everything, but going to The Room/Victoria Station/Family Voices in December (got the same N7 mentioned above) and A Slight Ache/The Dumb Waiter in February (the night with a Q&A with 'some cast members' after). Will probably leave it there unless amazing casting for Moonlight/Night School is announced.

Hmm, interesting cast so far but I really don't like Pinter and I'm skint. I think I'll wait for further casting news. Not even Toby Jones et al could redeem The Birthday Party for me, though.

Bold of them to start with the "One For The Road" grouping - all dour heavy-going political pieces unlikely to have wide appeal.
Their pricing is amazing - not sure who will pay £100 a ticket for some of this stuff.

Was almost put off entirely by the "pricing" structure, especially as I can only go on a Saturday. But found one N7 for Slight Ache/Dumb Waiter so that will do for me.

Booked for three of them, all at £15 in the dress circle. Based on SeatPlan the views look very good.

That pairing is a case in point. The Dumb Waiter is very good but is a 50 minute two-hander. A Slight Ache is really thin - also 50 minute two-hander - it was written as a radio play - I saw it at NT with Simon Russell-Beale and it was really not strong enough to make me want to see it again, especially as I assume Martin Freeman is playing the role. Can't see how they can sustain such high prices for that pairing in February. I'm assuming there'll be offers. |

The two that are standing out to me at the mo are the first (One For the Road / The New World Order / Mountain Language / Ashes to Ashes), although from the blurb I wonder if 4 mini plays of torture & interrogation might be a little too relentless, or the last (A Slight Ache / The Dumb Waiter).

A Kind of Alaska is a masterpiece and the best of the lot. For me The Lover / The Collection is most appealing simply because I've not seen them before - I guess many people will choose on that basis - for all the other productions I've seen at least one of the plays before. |
