I think it is fun and uplifting.
I hope it will help your dad to be more open minded, but it's also not the type of show I'd expect someone who was homophobic to go and see.
It is a show about tolerance and being accepted, with an ethnically diverse cast.

First the seat X6 has unlimited legroom but from memory is up one step, which may influence your decision. As for changing the mind of your father, it’s possible but it’s hard to give a definitive answer without knowing him. There definitely is a running theme of prejudice against Jamie throughout, from his peers, his teacher and most painfully, his own dad. The father’s views remain the same throughout, whereas his peers seem to soften by the end. There are themes of acceptance of diversity, but I think you might want to be cautious, especially as your own experiences with your own father could make the story very close to home. Again though, only you know how your dad is, and how open he is to change. At best it might make him question how his attitudes are really making you feel. There is an element of fun to the story but there is definitely a message there.

Are you okay walking up/down steps Cedric? If not, I am afraid the stalls are probably not an option. Like many London theatres, the stalls of the Apollo Theatre are actually below ground, down a flight of stairs.

Entered the TodayTix lottery, didn't win but have been offered £29.50 seats tonight, anyone taken up that offer and know what they're like?

I've done it before and had mid to rear stalls offers and dress circle offers. Depends a lot what's available.

So glad they've extended. I'll be getting my tickets for early Nov in the next couple of days! Has the current cast also extended?

The BBC is usually a reliable source, and the local news has reported that the original cast will not be appearing in the film. Not sure if that is everyone, or just the school 'children'.
Shooting starts May 2019.

X6 is indeed on a step, and resting your feet on the step isn't possible if you also want to stretch your legs out, as it is quite short. However, there is nothing in front of the seat at all. There is a stairlift from street to the stalls. In that theatre, there are stairs to every level anyway, too. If you have a recognised disability, contact nimaxtheatres. access(insert the @ symbol here)nimaxtheatres.com. They will arrange to have your needs met. It is also very probable that you can get a discounted rate on your ticket, too, for the most suitable seat. The theatre sells programmes, CDs - both concept and cast versions - and also a range of other stuff (the poster is brilliant). theatrmonkey.com: I just write to them and they make me a reservaition, they put me in the X6 actually, (Row T 15 and 16) and have a discount too!!! As you alreaddy know because of my other posts where you answerwed to me, Im very short, so, apart of the legroom, do you think it will be a clear view?? (the photos seems to show that the overhang blocks a little in the top of the stage); I mean, the pepole in front of me will block my view or my companion view?? Just curius. Thank you!

Well, I just paid my tickets guys. Thanks to all for your help!!!!. So, as many mentioned in the last posts, this show have a lot of cultural references and I want to be prepare in some way (know that in three weeks I´ll not be an expert by anymeans but "a little" is better than nothing). Don´t you know a movie or a documentary or somethiNg that could give me a general knowledge about the culture in British high schools, way of thinking or act, way of live, etc. to understand some references or, in the other hand, listen and kind to get use to the accent that the actors have???. Oh! And I will go with my father, we had a little chat about acceptance, want to be "closer" to each other, gay themes and...to my surpise and pleasure, he eventually accepted to go (we all know that we dont know how he will react...so...wish me luck) . I already translated a sinopsys in spanish for him (taken of wikipedia) XD as well as listened to the songs carefully hoping that he will undertad what will happen on stage. Thank yoU again folks! P.S: Do you know where I can watch the documentary that the musical is based on, online (I mean, the full thing)? Could´t found it; I tryed to buy it in or local cd-blue ray shops, but didn´t had luck ether (they did´t even know that the documentary exist or had it in their catalogue, to be honest, not suprises there, guess is a very local thing)

One thing to be aware of, Cedric, is the 'real' Jamie, in the documentary, comes from County Durham, but the musical is now set in Sheffield, so the accents you hear on stage will be completely different to those on YouTube.
As a non-native English speaker, this should, in theory, make life slightly easier.

You are very welcome. Enjoy the documentary and- more importantly- enjoy the show. You never know, your dad might see himself up there on the stage and decide to see things a different way in future. We can’t always make people happy, especially the ones closest to us sometimes, but you sound a lovely chap, Cedriko , and if you can’t make your dad a happy man, I bet you will make some man very happy one day (if you haven’t done so already...)
