Glad we'll have a professional recording of the Megasix, along with the updated arrangements to some of the other numbers.

If it's past midnight in the UK (which I'm pretty sure it is as I type), the live recording is available in the UK (just not here where I am in the States). SiriusXM Satellite Radio has been playing ExWives every hour today - and .... it sounds really darn good

I had a listen to it briefly before heading to bed last night, and on my way to work this morning, and what i heard was really good! I'm really glad that they've captured the original Broadway cast for this, it sounds great!
Can't wait to listen to it all!

The first track is mostly audience noise…

I’m enjoying the new album so far and I’m glad that they’ve pretty much left the vocals untouched rather than try and “polish” them in post production. The only downside is that they’ve left out some of the dialogue, including K Howard’s iconic roasting of the other queens.

I've had this on repeat all day so far - absolutely lovely it! It's got such a fresh new sound, and it's great having the little 'in between' bits added in too.

Well, that was fun. Short and sweet. …yet still drags somehow in ‘Heart of Stone’ & ‘Get Down’ for me. Both could be a verse shorter and still get their points across.

Its great they are filming and releasing this the only thing I would say is they keep reverting back to the original Six queens for all these extra things (except for Saturday at the palace) can they not put their faith in the current cast for some of these extra things?

Agreed. I think the original West End cast are very romanticised. It’s odd that the cast haven’t performed the show regularly together for a number years get to do the performance that is forever on film.

Possibly because unlike most original West End casts - there's nothing for fans to keep/watch with them performing (apart from illegal bootlegs). The original cast recording was from the initial cast who only did a handful of performances. At least fans of the original West End cast will have this memory of them to keep (assuming it's released for download/DVD eventually). Edit: Not saying I agree with it, just thinking about why they've chosen the original cast.

I get your point but, there are a lot of casts that don't even get 1 London cast recording and the Broadway one is sold instead, it just seems that the original Six cast get a lot more than others do. The current cast must think what do we need to do to get more than fan recognition for our time in the show.

I was responding to Figaro saying "what do you mean" about them growing new heads...it falls a bit flat when you have to explain it! Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced beheaded survived. Quite a coup to get them back together! Ooof, does the show not cover that?

Feels right to get the OGs back given how much they did in adding personality to the roles originally

I am sad we don't get to see Christina Modestou, studio cast Boleyn. I saw one of those Monday night shows at the arts with the studio cast and I distinctly remember thinking after her number "if this gets a cast recording this is the number that will be the big hit". She was fantastic and her wit really comes through in a way I assume they don't direct the Boleyns to have anymore, instead favoring the modern insta-tiktok girl vibe which is... fine I guess.

Feels right to get the OGs back given how much they did in adding personality to the roles originally Agree and yet so many keyboard warriors seeing it ‘as a slap in the face’ to the current cast. As their first major show I’m sure the creators want that slice of nostalgia too and subsequent casts haven’t really gone too far off what the OGs did so... good luck to them I say.
