2-3 years would be decent and on par with Mary Poppins and Beauty and the Beast. I wouldn't be surprised if Frozen ends up at the Prince Edward after Aladdin although I imagine that won't happen until late 2019 or early 2020 at the earliest.

Look at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre: Lion King, followed by Mary Poppins, and now Aladdin. If it were for me, there can't be enough Disney shows running simultaneously It helps that Disney has the lease on the theatre, Poppins lasted as long as did at the New Amsterdam because Disney had nothing to replace it with straight away until Aladdin came along so it chugged along nicely and the theatre was dark for a year while it was being renovated. Frozen is rumoured for the St James Theatre in 2018 which would make it the first time Disney has had a show in a theatre not owned by Nederlander or the New Amsterdam. |

I just can't get past the feeling it's a Christmas show! Maybe it's because Americans don't have Panto, but for me Aladdin just doesn't feel right in the middle of summer! Happy to be proved wrong though.

Note that tickets for most of the Grand Circle for Press Night on 15 June are available and they are at a lower price than the same seats for other nights. Note the earlier start time and 'be seated by 6.30' request.

Given how heavily Disney have marketed this, I think they're expecting to do very well It's round the corner from Harry Potter Which is basically sold out anyway To be honest these will be THE 2 shows to see in the WE and I can see Aladdin being even more successful here than on Broadway We have been relatively starved of new Disney theatrical shows as few seem to make the transfer to London They don't do anything by halves and the production values are quite the best in the industry It could be the most profitable area per square foot in London theatre for years to come!! |

Me and my friend will go to the opening night on 15 June. We have never been to an opening night on this scale before. Will all the guests who attend the performance walk the red (or in this case purple) carpet or is it for invited guests exclusively and those who regularly booked their tickets will be guided in through a different entrance?
On the website, it says the performance begins at 7pm and guests should be seated by 6:30pm. How early in advance should we be at the Prince Edward to not miss out on any of the pre-show red carpet buzz/publicity?

Semi-related.
It is about time someone brought over the musical Twisted. It is essentially Alladin meets Wicked, with Jafar being a good person trying his best to create a better Agrabah and it's horrid people. Made by the Potter musical guys, you can watch the whole thing on YouTube. The first number has me in stitches every time.
