Did a thread about this before but was rudely ignored. Pah.

Is it just me or does this not make sense? You can hardly say someone's 'no stranger' to something if they haven't even had their debut yet? I'm aware that this is a strange thing to pick up on when the whole idea sounds awful...!

Holy mother of god. I'd rather watch Jane McDonald interview Stephen Hawking.

I'm aware that this is a strange thing to pick up on when the whole idea sounds awful...! You are perfectly right. But this is the world where you can be a celebrity with nothing to celebrate , or be celebrated for - or, indeed, when you are almost totally unknown.

The official press release says 'Presenter Freddie Flintoff will SOON himself be no stranger to the stage, as he will be making his debut in Fat Friends the musical later this year.'

Holy mother of god. I'd rather watch Jane McDonald interview Stephen Hawking. I'd love to see this!!!! Or vice versa. Either way it would be tv gold.

It was....a piss poor version of Stars In Their Eyes where, tonight Matthew, I will impersonate a cold lump of coal. Dear Freddie has a way to go before he can emulate Brucie. {Winner Spoiler - click to view} For those interested the squeaky bint from Corrie won, which was a triumph for those who like their Eva’s on helium.
Piss poor all round and quite how they’re going to fix this post-prod will be interesting. Five Guys burger was nice next door but forget the Marylebone gin - bland and no finish.

Rebecca Front was in the Donmar 'Company' - so hardly a novice when it comes to musical theatre performance. Tony Robinson was in Oliver! as a child IIRC.
So they are not all new to this world!

{Winner Spoiler - click to view} actually I thought Lucy Fallon was very good and deserved her win. I voted for her.

Just to bear in mind that some (many?) will watch this and therefore don’t want to know the winner in advance so please use spoilers when discussing the result.

One word.
Why?
I fell down the stairs on a bus a couple of weeks ago and have fractured my left so have been home and have seen the adds on tele multiple times.
It's seeming celebrities doing things that are way out of their dept and kinda patronising to the professionals
Again, why?

It sounds like some harmless fun, and if nothing else it'll be entertaining to see Rebecca Front butchering Memory whilst they pan to a pained looking Elaine Paige in the audience.

Don't say you've never wanted to see Tony Robinson sing Climb Ev'ry Mountain!

I think this is a great idea. Perhaps next they can have All Star Plumbing or All Star Road Maintenance. How about All Star Dentistry? Ooh, here's a good one: All Star Coming Up With Unoriginal Ideas For Celebrity Based TV Shows.
