I've dayseated once for Sixpence, and since then I've been back twice and sorted tickets once for a friend. On each of those three occasions there have been Day seats available online, twice at day seat price and once at £12.50. On all three occasions there have been top price tickets further back reduced as low as £12.50. So now when I want to see it, I don't bother with Day seats or queuing full stop!

I feel we made a smart choice booking in advance for the final performance. I couldn't do a long dayseat line again.

Thanks for the 'heads-up'. I've just been looking online at tickets for tonight and tomorrow night. There are loads, in all areas, for just £14.75. Problem is, I'm not in London until next Wednesday, so I'll have to keep my fingers crossed.

Why the hideous new logo so close to the end of the run? Just, no.

I'm definitely reading that as Six Half a Pence

Strange marketing decision. It's bland, forgettable and doesn't live up the quality of the show itself. I've seen posters for school productions of musicals that look better.

I just got an email with it in. Thought it was horrible - still do. Unnecessary. It looks like the horrible new Titanic one a bit.

It looks a bit industrial.

The positioning of "Half A" is very odd. Doesn't read right at all

I can only guess that this is a final attempt at a last boost in ticket sales - perhaps trying to sell the show as less of an old-fashioned musical to draw in new crowds? Don't get me wrong, I love me an old fashioned musical but perhaps they're attempting to cash in on the pre-teen loving Wicked-esque fans? Judging by the offers on TodayTix, and the empty back of stalls when I went last month on a Friday, the sales haven't been as strong as they could have been.
Or maybe, this is a hint at branding for a possible tour? A guy can dream!

My first thought was rebrand for a tour

Same, that was my first thought too, a redo for the touring production.

Good lord that's terrible. That said, I can't wait to see Six Half A Pence again.

Good lord that's terrible. That said, I can't wait to see Six Half A Pence again. The sequel... Arthur Kipps has to actually work in this version.

Just checked and surprised to see that sixpences were still around in 1980. I remember them very well (2 and a half pence equivalent!) but thought they has gone earlier. Sad to relate that I also remember threepenny bits (the weirdest coin ever and an actual half a sixpence) as well as the old big pennys, ten shilling notes, shillings, florins, crowns, half crowns etc!

What's the logic behind changing a logo a few months before it closes ? and to a worse one at that

What's the logic behind changing a logo a few months before it closes ? and to a worse one at that I wish I could answer that! I haven't heard any murmurings of a tour, but it does seem odd to rebrand a show so close to closing if no further life is planned for it.
