Sad to see it go, but hardly surprising, and as others have said it's had a respectable run. Now I just need to see how long it takes me to give in and book for the last show! Same as Bend it Bend it Stand up and sing

Well that would be great if Half A Sixpence did a filmed performance with Charlie Stemp and the current London cast from the Noel Coward Theatre in London for Xmas this year on TV on BBC Four and on DVD like Gypsy did in 2015 and I hope there will be an announcement for it soon before the show finishes it's run on Saturday 2nd September I do like watching recorded live or broadcast live performances of shows and musicals at the Cinema, on DVD and Blu-Ray and on TV I'd love it if they recorded this and it was shown at Christmas. Charlie Stemp was wonderful. I hated that film with Tommy Steele!

I think they want to bring she loves me over for Autumn/Christmas Please no unless they bring Laura Benanti over with it - we've just had a perfectly decent version of She Loves Me at the Menier! Is Charlie staying with this show until closing? Will have to get around to seeing it soon!

Sad to see it will be closing, however thrilled at its run considering no one thought it would run past Christmas last year and it is nice to see one of the best musicals of last year last a decent run. Also thrilled that we already booked our tickets assuming it would close that night.

Do you think Charlie Stemp will now cancel his mid-August holiday? I would doubt it, this has been the intended closing date for a while. But who knows!

I finally got round to seeing this tonight, only 7 months late (not counting Chichester). Thanks to whoever it was (sorry, can't find the post offhand) who recommended trying TKTS. I went there about 5.15 after I'd finished my matinee & got G22 stalls for £25, which is right next to the premiums & was a great view.
I was pleased to find all the leads were on (while I like seeing u/s when repeat-viewing it's nice to get leads for a first view), especially Charlie Stemp, given his rave reviews, and Emma Williams, who I've been a fan of since Zorro. A number of the smaller roles were being understudied, I spent most of the interval peering at the programme trying to work out who was & wasn't on as the screen in the foyer only seemed to show the leads.
I found the show pretty enjoyable. I wouldn't say it's the best thing I've ever seen or that I'd want to see it dozens of times but I might try to fit in 1 more viewing before it closes. Charlie Stemp was certainly a good find by the Chichester casting director, a very assured performance for someone with the shortest credits list of anyone in the programme! I felt very sorry for Emma Williams's character, who I thought deserved a happier ending & a couple of solos.
During Act 2 there was a show stop & while the announcement was initially the catch-all "technical difficulties", at the re-start it was announced that the roles of Carshot & Maxwell would now be played by someone else (sorry, can't remember the name) so Harry Morrison who had been playing them must have been injured or taken ill. I hope it wasn't anything serious. Thanks to the stop I had to hurry for my train & ended up on the same tube as Emma Williams, who was doing the same.

I too finally made it to this show yesterday for the matinee. No technical issues for us and full main cast from what I could tell.
Struggled at start to understand what was being said. Not sure if that was just me adjusting to cockney time. Overall verdict fab show and Charlie Stemp amazing. Some great co-ordination in song dance scenes- nothing dropped. They looked like a cast really enjoying it, right down to the Status Quo improv in the encore.

Remind me who Carshot and Maxwell are again?! Maxwell is the architect. I think Carshot is the deputy manager of the drapery store, though as it was my first time seeing the show I'm not entirely certain on all the small roles. I had a reply from Harry Morrison on Twitter this morning saying that he's fine now so that's good that it evidently wasn't anything too serious. When I was talking to Emma Williams last night I mentioned that I'd tried day seating for Half A Sixpence a couple of months ago but by the time I got to the theatre just after 10 all the day seats had gone. She said that there often aren't many day seats left because there's a group of about 10 fans who day seat for about 4 shows a week, every week. I'm still trying to work out how on earth anyone has the time to do that? I mean, seeing a show 4 times in a week is perfectly plausible but how does anyone who works have the time to day seat multiple days a week? And if they don't work, how can they afford to spend £80 a week on day seats?!

I believe I experienced this group once when I dayseated. Must say, if it is them, they are very annoying and brag about the number of times they have seen the show/certain cast member told me this etc., like people should be jealous. I have dayseated twice and the first time was in December when there was no queue, I arrived at 9:30 and loitered before going in just after 10. I wasn't so sure for my second time as the show had been running a bit, it was March, although that said it was mid-week. I arrive just before 9 and a large group had developed. If it is this group, I wonder how early they get there to ensure they will get seats. Luckily I went on a two show day so I was successful, but I doubt I would have been had it just been the one show.
