When Christina Bennington was Veronica in the West End, it was mentioned a few times she was the victim of awful direction, as she was OTT in her portrayal of Veronica. However, seeing her videos pop up on TikTok regularly, I do wonder if it was a personal choice - there is always a 'cheeky wink',a smirk and exaggerated facial expressions in her videos. I wonder this too!! so cool Hannah has now done all 3 Heathers but wonder if it’s noticeable when there’s so few cast on. Is Hannah leaving at cast change? I know she did a video a while back saying she didn’t know if she was getting an extension or not. Does anyone know why Heathers always is turning over cast so much? They always seem to do such short runs with cast. It must cost so much constantly auditioning and rehearsing cast, I know it creates some PR but aside this cast it sometimes feels some cast are only there for a handful of weeks before their back in their day job

I wonder if the break might also be because they need to give the cast annual leave now this has become a much longer run than originally planned? With other shows, they can stagger the leave dates and still have cover, but there just aren't enough people to do this with Heathers.
This is one of my favourite shows running in London right now, but I can also see why a lot of cast members would only be willing to commit to short runs. I'm sure I read earlier in the thread that the dressing rooms are already so crammed that there just isn't room for swings. I have sat in the extreme side seats before as well and you can see just how tightly packed the set is. There really is very little room to manoeuvre.

One of the short London runs overlapped with the tour so needed seperate casts rather than the normal bring the tour into town or take the London show on the road. The current run was/is supposed to be a short run and keeps getting unexpected short extensions so people have taken other work. I may be wrong but I took Hannah's comments as she hadn't decided (maybe waiting to hear about a role elsewhere) rather than they hadn't decided to offer it. I assume they would want to keep her as she is working hard for them as dance captain and literary saved the show by filling in a part she doesn't cover. Her social media presence must be doing a fair amount of free advertising for them as well.

All this absence is really interesting. Having to call in old cast (Emma Kingston and Kaeli McKnight returning over the weekend) whilst Paul Taylor Mills has been tweeting defence over having no swings and that fans should stop suggesting swings to him! My friend was at the show with one female ensemble member and having seen it before she said it was very noticeable. Surely if the quality of the show is effected, it would be the best idea to get one or two swings trained up and ready?!

My friend was at the show with one female ensemble member and having seen it before she said it was very noticeable. Surely if the quality of the show is effected, it would be the best idea to get one or two swings trained up and ready?! I was there in the front row yesterday afternoon and thought the show was fantastic and the audience incredibly enthusiastic. They were rather down on cast members (no Maddison Firth, Inez Budd, Jordan Cunningham, Eliza Waters or Mary J Caldwell), but the stage never looked empty. It's a little odd seeing lines reassigned and names changed, but it worked. The only hint you might have of Kayleigh McKnight being thrown in with a role she didn't cover was a bit of early discussion at the back of the stage. Hannah Lowther is fantastic as well, moving from cover role to cover role so fluently. As usual, everyone on stage looked to be having a lot of fun, with several cast members trying their best to hold their giggles back. Very glad I got to see such a unique show. If you're into cast member spotting, be sure to visit M&S between shows (which I go to purely for groceries). Sad that it's the final week for many of the cast this week, but I'll try and get back next weekend.

Glad it didn't affect your experience! Just to clarify it was no comment on the performers, I think they are all doing a brilliant job.
They have cancelled performances from next Monday (2 May) through to Thursday 19th May due to an 'exciting Heathers project'

Or they’re reworking the show to turn it into an actor-musician production.

With Hannah Lowther playing every single one of the instruments?!

They should rework it into a one woman show starring Hannah, I'd pay to see that

With the amount of absences they've had recently it seems ambitious that they'll be able to do multiple filming days with a consistent cast..

JS, JM, CHF Though how CHF will be able to juggle Cinderella and Heathers remains to be seen. Her alternate and understudies have had the best gig on Cinderella

Oh I do hope not. Ailsa is a magnificent, effortless Veronica and deserves a chance to shine….and thirty year old high schoolers are a lot more obvious in HD, so please lets at least have the current OP cast.

It would be a massive shame for CHF to do it over Ailsa. Not only for the age thing (which is enough IMO) but there's just no comparison in their performances, for Ailsa to be pushed aside just because CHF was the original would be a crime. PTM loves her though so I won't be at all surprised.

Hopefully with the current cast, although I imagine it’s unlikely as some are leaving this week. Presumably, they will need an audience too at some point, so would they film this with whichever cast will take over? I know they will have to film parts in an empty theatre as there’s just such a lack of space.

The news stories announcing it said there will be two performances with an audience as part of the filming process with a ballot for tickets.
I assume they will do lots more filming without an audience an edit everything together later.

Are they filming it so next time they run out of cast they can just show the footage?

The idea of that dreadful, cheap set being immortalised on film is almost as depressing as the idea of CHF playing Veronica again.

I think the two week closure is to give Mr Leeks year 9 woodworkers time to pimp out the set a bit, and Miss Priddles’ afterschool needle workers time to mend the C&A Clockhouse costumes.

But unfair of them to decide the audience by lottery while cancelling the tickets of those who had booked. I guess they want the die hard screaming stans in the audience
