Heathers announcement almost certainly happening and Carrie having the 7 week break during her Fantine run next year, too much of a coincidence.

It’s perfectly possible that she’s fibbing or has been told not to say anything, but Carrie answered an IG story question about a week ago & she said she’s got no plans returning to Heathers anytime soon.
I do think CHF was a big reason why this show did so well, so it would be a bit odd if they didn’t try and bring her back.

A 7 week tour sounds short though, if the two clues are linked?

I thought we’d seen the last of this dreadful effort but if it does tour you can be fairly sure that even BK would struggle to make that cheap, ugly set look any worse than it did at the Haymarket.

I don’t share your faith. I’m quite sure Uncle Bill will find a way to fit it all in the back of a Ford Transit and sling it up in as many venues as he can, as many times a day as he can.

Heathers will sell out on tour regardless of the set...

I assumed the 7 week break was for Cinderella on Broadway...? Is that a possibility?

Heathers will sell out on tour regardless of the set... Yes, which is a bit sad isn’t it? It’s like saying, it’ll sell out regardless of any thoughts of production quality, like his ‘Joseph’ & ‘Blood Brothers’. The show may be the star but it’s no excuse for not trying. It was fine for the OP for a few weeks but to put those cheapo costumes & the Pie Crust Players set on a proper stage was just a bit embarrassing at West End prices.

I'm not sure that's even true. I don't think it will sell out easily. A lot of theatres core audience are older patrons that wouldn't be interested in this at all. And even for the younger audience it's cult and a bit niche. If Six isnt selling out on tour I don't see why Heathers would.
Maybe I'm wrong.

Heathers will sell out on tour regardless of the set... Depends if Carrie does it or not I suppose.

Carrie has ruled herself out. Some of the Six fans on Twitter are rumouring that Millie O'Connell will be Veronica on tour.

I think would struggle HUGELY on tour. Unless there is a name(like Carrie) in it this will get no audience at midweek matinees, and pretty much die during the weeks too - the recent West End run proved that it's not a good enough show to hold a wide enough audience for 12 weeks.

^Say what?Heathers was a big hit in the WE,I heard... Mind you according to The Stage this week the numbers of young people going to the theatre in the last decade has dropped by 27% so maybe even teen favourites like this will struggle...we shall see.

^Say what?Heathers was a big hit in the WE,I heard... It certainly picked up towards the end but it was a very easy ticket at discounted rates for the majority of the run. I went in with very low expectations and was blown away. Carrie, for me, was a revelation. I saw it 6 times in the end.

Carrie was indeed a force to be reckoned with in this. Now that she has chosen to step up an age bracket we need a new one. I’m sure that there are numerous fantastic talents just graduated that could turn it into a star making turn, but without a teen name to hang it on it will indeed die a death.

Good amount of time for an R&D/workshop though perhaps? And if it's in NYC then that would explain why she has the 7 week gap from LM.

^Sold out TOP with 20,000 tickets sold...sold out before gala night apparently...70% of audience were in under 30’s bracket and they are the future of theatre-going... all reputable sites checked say it was a big hit when it transferred. The set was simple, but BK is trying to make money...it’s showbusiness, not a charity...good luck to him...he reminds me of an old-school carny...anti-BK snobbery in the theatre-going fraternity is laughable...much preferred his touring Joseph to the London travesty...do agree that CHF was the big attraction of Heathers, but the show itself is a masterpiece of MT.

I'm all for everyone having an opinion, but do you really think Heathers is a 'masterpiece of MT'?

^You’re all for people having an opinion?? Thank you for deigning to give me permission to express my opinions on an opinions board, souchyboyy. Fortunately,at my age and with my experience of MT,I make my own mind up about what I consider to be amazing or not.I think it may be known as personal taste.

^The set was simple, but BK is trying to make money...it’s showbusiness, not a charity...good luck to him... Fine for The Other Palace but not for the Haymarket. Yes it was on a budget, but did cheapen an otherwise enjoyable piece. Just a shame.

It was souchyboy that I was referring back to on the thread not BB,so apologies if that wasn’t clear... The Cambridge Dictionary defines ‘masterpiece’ as a work of great skill and that is how I judged Heathers.
