Looks like Amber's last show is 18th November? Is it? They were selling the extension to Feb with her name on the email. Cheeky!

The extensions on ATG are only up to October? I couldn't see anything beyond mid-October. This appears on her scheduled holiday page:
Amber Riley is scheduled to perform in Dreamgirls until Saturday 18 November 2017.

Seeing this tonight. Can someone remind me where the board is that tells us who's actually going to be on stage? I seem to remember some people missed it.

Directly when you enter the theatre and you turn left to head down the first flight of stairs, there's a screen above the steps.

The rest until 2018 is "sold out" which I can only assume means not on sale yet.

That's odd. Why send emails for groups if you can't book?
Eitner way, it's extended.

Just back, will review tomorrow. Just wanted to say that our favourite (Amber aside) was the new Lorrell, particularly in the first half. Lovely stage presence. Couldn't believe she was the new girl!

Dreamgirls, Schreamgirls! Yes, it was a bit of a vocal onslaught - they just kept coming right at you! Thanks to wickedgrin 's information about the board at the entrance, I managed to see who was on last night. viserys , the screen was turned off. It is very easy to miss the board if it is crowded as it is situated right before you are herded down the stairs on entering. We got the full wazoo - everyone who was supposed to be on stage was on. Now here's the thing. I didn't know the story, hadn't seen the film and certainly hadn't heard of any of the girls this thread has spent 957 pages going on about. But I had read it and found it all mildly interesting, what with all the comings and goings, the 'She's got thises!' and BurlyBeaR 's take on how the latest cast member got instated deserves the Theatreboard equivalent of the Booker prize! So I did know that there was a new girl. Her name was on the board, but not in the programme, and we couldn't remember who she was playing. We came out at the interval and the conversation went thus: "My favourite's Lorrell." "Me too!" "Me three!" (Mr T is busy turning on light-up wrist watch we'd confiscated before the show so doesn't join in.) "I presume Deena is the new girl?" "Yes, she looks a bit out of it, doesn't she?" "Well, not bad considering...." Then we checked.....honestly....I cannot tell you how stunned we all were. Asmeret Ghebremichael was gorgeous! Such stage presence, she just lit the place up. A total joy. And because she didn't even get a slip of paper in the programme I googled her. A bit of trivia that will mean nothing to some of you but.......she is an alumna of ALDC......in other words, the dance school behind 'Dance Moms,' that hideous form of child abuse those of you with kids/teens may be subjected to at 4PM on the Lifetime channel. She is also 38 years old! Amber was out of this world and I have nothing really to add. It almost felt as though she wasn't trying too hard, but her delight at the end was wonderful. There were pockets of mid-song whoopers and clappers and someone told them to shut up early on. (If that was you sir, I salute you!) They didn't, but it wasn't too bad on the whole. We also loved Adam J. Bernard as Jimmy and Tyrone Huntley as CC has a beautiful voice - indeed, the boys harmonised much better than the girls, who seemed to be more in a screaming match if I'm honest. The songs were uninspiring, which was a shame. Apart from the obvious one already made famous by someone, you don't really come away singing along The Strand. @theatremonkey , you've probably got this covered, but in dress circle F1 (D1 and E1 would also do it) I broke my own record and was FIRST into the toilet at the end of the show. (I know, I know! My life is now complete!) I know this is important for some people! All in all a good show. Would I see it again? Well, no. Am I glad I went? Hell, yes! 4*. Edit - just remembered - mucho excitement on the way home, reading the programme. Got to the double page spread entitled "Buy your west end tickets here" with a bunch of ads for various shows. Great screaming ensued (causing Mr T to look up momentarily from light-up wrist) as we were delighted to discover that Jake Gyllenhaal is doing Sunday in the Park........I was tutting with disgust that Theatreboard had let me down big time.....how could they not KNOW this......? Well, you know how this ends....but why oh why do they have something on at the Hudson Theatre in New York on a page about the West End? Eh? Why? Tell me! Annoyed? Very!

In my original comments (pages and pages back) I did say that I found the belting and the screaming in this a little tiresome. Belting seems to be fashionable thanks to X Factor and The Voice but in my book is not a substitute for good singing. I enjoyed the show but I couldn't sit through it again because of all the relentless belting.

Sunday in the Park is discussed in the International pages. Yes but apparently the ad among West End shows made Tibidabo think it was in London. Where it should be. I'm willing to fly over and drag Mr Gyllenhaal back here in chains if someone volunteers to help. Anyway, back to Dreamgirls, glad you had a good time, your report makes me want to see it again!

I enjoyed the show but I couldn't sit through it again because of all the relentless belting. I knew someone had mentioned it, but forgotten who it was! I completely agree. Riffing and belting.....just SING for heaven's sake! (That being said, Amber can really belt!) Sunday in the Park is discussed in the International pages. That's what I meant, yes viserys. The page of ads was entitled "Buy Your WestEnd Tickets Here!" so obviously I had a, ahem, moment.....! And put me down as a volunteer - I'll bring the chains!

Also notable, Jennifer Hudson (who played Effie in the film and won the Oscar for the performance) was in the audience last night, as was Sir Ian McKellen.
