Amber back on tonight, according to the cast board as I left the matinee.
Cracking show! Will post a full review later just currently out with family.

Why can't they replace that awful person playing Deena while they are at. Ship someone else over from America.

I think she's certainly serviceable. She sings it well, which is half of what I ask for.

Lisii playing Deena was my favourite thing about the show

As much as I enjoyed Amber, Lisii stole the show for me when I seen it.

So I really enjoyed this Wednesday afternoon. It made such a difference being close enough that I could actually see detail and facial expressions.
Marisha was just phenomenal. Not even just her evident vocal talent, but her acting was spot on too. Some of her facial expressions, and even the tiny nuances that added so much to her performance.
Liisi was good, but I don't see her as the best part of the show unlike some others. Her voice was knock out in parts, but felt underpowered in other parts.
Asmeret as Lorrell...brilliant! Given that it was only her second performance she's settled in phenomenally well...she's only gonna get stronger as time goes on!
Joe Aaron Reid...the less said the better. Didn't enjoy his performance last time and didn't enjoy it this time. Vocally he's fine but I just found myself not believing his acting. It was all a bit wooden for me. I'd be intrigued to see an understudy in the future to see if it's more the direction or is in fact him.
We had Tosh on as Jimmy and he was phenomenally good. I can't remember the performance of the lead chap but I can't believe how it could be better than this was! He had the right balance of the comedy with the seriousness, and absolute knock out vocals to match.
Pleased to report an immaculately-behaved audience. No sweet-rustlers, photo takers or mid-show whoopers in sight. Standing ovation after AIATY and the end of the show!
Four stars.

Who leaves the biggest new musical on the West End after just a few months? Not good forget career.... Something fishy has gone on. Not just with her but I think they are having general backstage and casting dramas all round - what is it with that theatre?

Not just with her but I think they are having general backstage and casting dramas all round - what is it with that theatre? Ibinabo has had problems with her health throughout the run, so the producers probably asked her to back out because she was missing performances because of that. Ruth, on the other hand, she just wasn't ready.

Amber still ill, Marisha is on today at least, unknown if she will do the evening! Now I'm confused! I'm sure it was Amber on Tuesday and I was in the front row. Mind you I'm convinced at curtain call one if the ensemble was a man in drag. For all I know it might have been Gary Willmott on as Effie as I am having a few senior moments recently.

She probably withdrew herself per doctors instructions. Producers asking her to back out because she's ill is ILLEGAL. It's like firing someone from work because they suddenly get HIV or cancer or any illness. I sure hope your own employers don't treat you this way, I can't even imagine what makes you think this is a possible scenario. I wouldn't be surprised if she comes back once she has recovered.
Wishing this talented and wonderful performer a speedy recovery.

Or had you wandered across the road to the Adelphi accidentally

I think the poster may have meant that they were confused by people saying Amber was still ill given she'd done the show the previous evening. In other words, just because Marisha is on doesn't mean Amber is ill, she may be indisposed for other reasons.

I've seen the show 3 times and I'm really looking forward to seeing the new Lorrell.
I saw Ibinabo Jack as Lorrell twice and if I'm 100% honest, she wasn't great. I think she acted the role really well, she was very funny but her vocals were not the same as her recording on Legally Blonde... she was struggling and you could tell... but health comes first before anything.

Who did you see the other time? I think i saw Candace Furbert who i thought was excellent. Though i had some issues making out what she was singing through either bad diction or maybe it was the sound. Anyway, i don't know why she couldn't be bumped up.

Looks like Amber's last show is 18th November?

I'm guessing it's simpler contractually and logistically to replace a lead with a lead. Bumping up an understudy means replacing them with someone who has to learn and rehearse their ensemble role as well one or more of the lead roles.
