Hey, what's Row B of stalls like? Just bought a ticket for Wednesday's matinee through Today tix. I know the stage is high but will I miss anything major? I sat in B and thought it was perfect! |

Saw Karen tonight as Effie and having seen her 4 times now, I can say tonight was the best performance of hers I've ever seen. While her And I Am Telling You is not the best I will admit, every other song is amazing! What makes Karen different is she just has the most beautiful voice and she adds riffs in here and there - her acting is also notably good. She has come a long way and deserves to be recognised as AN EFFIE ALTERNATE rather than Marisha taking all the lime light.
If your ever seeing Karen, you're in for a treat becusse her "I am changing" is the best out of the 3 effies
I also have to get off my chest that I really find the new C.C White awful! I don't know if it's becuse Tyrone Huntley was truly amazing in his role but this new guy has got an average voice at that and his acting is REALLY REALLY bad - he tends to just stand still and comes across as cold and emotionless; he keeps his arms straight down and hardly moves.

I disagree, I found tyrone more relaxed and able to move around a little, C.C is meant to come across as friendly and young. But this new guy is almost glued to one spot and hardly even smiles! He's just left with one angry pout the entire show. |

i am going on the 8th july. who is scheduled to be on? Are you there for the matinee or the evening? I believe that Amber isn't doing the matinee as her and Liisi are performing in Trafalgar Square at lunchtime for Pride. |

I know she's performing at Pride but as she comes back from holiday the day before I was so hoping she would be doing the matinee as the Pride performance is quite a bit earlier. Nothing against any of the other girls, I just booked for my mum thinking I'd be safe that soon after she was back from hols! |

That's such a shame, thank you though. I only booked tickets a couple of days ago as that wasn't showing as a holiday date anywhere, I've been lucky enough to see Amber but my mum was so excited to see her. I'm sure the show will still be great - I think I saw on Twitter that Marisha is in Barcelona so it'll probably be Karen? I've heard good things so it'll be nice for me to see a different take on the role!

It does pose the question though as to what will happen if she's still ill tomorrow. Karen will have done Thursday and Friday nights - Saturday there will be Pride at lunchtime and then a double show. Marisha is in Barcelona so do we think Karen could do all three performances or would Candace Furbert get her debut? |

I think she'll do Pride no problem as it's only going to be a song or two, but if she's not up to the doing the show in the evening I could see her missing it. Depends how she feels I suppose! I would say thats slightly harsh whilst I am no expert on her attendance record you make it sound like she rings the theatre about half an hour before curtain and just says 'sorry I dont fancy doing it today'

I'm not sure if I do agree to be honest - yes she's had a fair amount of illness and and scheduled holiday, but outside of that I think her attendance has been generally good. |

Saw this on Thursday and was really underwhelmed. Karen tried far too hard with her vocals (Listen aside, which was fantastic) and consequently spoilt most of her numbers and I didn't feel any real connection to Effie as a character. Sounded like she was singing AIATY with the most hideous of sore throats and pushing when she really didn't need to. As a whole I thought there was too much grunting and shouting going on which made a lot of parts difficult to understand anyway. I came away thinking Liisi as Deena was the real star of the show, her voice was so powerful yet clean and precise compared to the others; amazing light and shade which heightened her own 'wow' moments, plus her character came across as the most likeable and genuine of the Dreams.

People shouldn't be throwing shade at Amber...yes - when you pay to see a star it's very disappointing. Believe me, I've lost sleep worrying about missing someone I've really wanted to see. Especially if you're not from London and you're on holiday andvinly have one chance to see said person. And yes, Amber isn't over the title so you can't get your money back.
I think the issue here is she's scheduled to do too many shows. She should do 6 max and with as big of a sing as Effie is, maybe even 5. I'm sure Karen and Marisha are great, but there is disappointment that goes along with not seeing a star. The West End is special and it's also expensive and some people save up for a big night out.
