Well the website is a shambles this morning. Front of the queue at 9am, selected my seats, and kept getting system errors. Tried different dates. Same thing.
So I'm now 812th in the queue with a wait time of over an hour. Not impressed.

Amen to that, souchyboyy. Was 180th at 9am, got to the front, got kicked to the back. Re-started in 2 different browsers. Got to the front in both 20 minutes later. Selected seats, wouldn't go to the basket (though from the other browser I knew the seats were not visible to anyone else). Kept going back and trying again. Eventually get "please wait" and then "system error" so, back again. Another "please wait" and... FINALLY... in the basket, logged in, paid and I have tickets in the next to back row of the stalls, yay. Sadly, they have got VERY wise on pricing. No cheap restricted view front stalls corners, and £80 gets you the next to back row in the dress circle, £65 the row behind that - if going in that area, I'd go for the row behind, same view, £15 cheaper but a bit less knee room. Still, not that impressed, could have been smoother. Yeah, this was a lot more difficult than Glenn in Sunset, which it shouldn't have been. Definitely shows its getting a new audience in to the ENO though! Booked for two shows - one at beginning and one at end of the run. Be interesting to see how they both improve as it goes on. Glad you got sorted Theatremonkey!

One of the rare occasions I want to see a musical not because of the cast. Was easier to get tickets this time after the shambles at the start with not getting to the basket. Agree with the pricing structure.

I've gone for C3 in the balcony for £13.75 for my trips - had it for my 2nd and 3rd Sunset trips. Bargain of a seat, legroom fine as you're on the end of a row too.
Agree that its a very unfair pricing structure. That performance when Jenkins is off might be when all the unhappy people go as they've only got Boe to put up with!

Just booked now, the same cheap seat in the balcony I saw Sunset from, as I know the restricted view is pretty much fine there. I went for the day Katherine Jenkins isn't on.
Didn't get held in a queue at all, for what it's worth, and there are plenty of tickets available at all price levels.

You're all idiots for paying actual money to see this tripe.

And you're a rude person for thinking that was something that needed to be said. It's well acknowledged that many of us don't think this sounds like a good idea, but if people do think that what has been proposed is worth their time and money to experience for themselves, then it's entirely up to them and has nothing to do with their intellect. What a pointlessly unpleasant post.

Indeed. It's one thing to express distaste at elements of the production (as many of us have done, politely) but it's still perfectly valid for people to go. We have many a fan of the actors I'm sure, and for them it's not pointless. Live and let see theatre and all.

I've never 'noped' so hard at a combination casting/show. In fairness I don't mind Boe as a singer and person from what I've seen of him but I wouldn't go out of my way to see him. Can't stand her or the musical itself though. I love the musical too much to see it mauled. Especially at those prices.

Nice to see people voting with their wallets and booking this, despite the naysayers. I bet quite a few of the naysayers end up going too, but shhhh on that eh!

I am tempted because I've wanted to see this for a while, and I loved Sunset Boulevard in the same venue. I just don't ever want to pay to see Alfie Boe.

Oh yes, I'll probably go (secretly) just to hear the orchestra play that score. But just a cheap seat in the gods.

Hey, I personally agree that I wouldn't pay that much money for this (personally I don't like the piece or KJ) my comment was directed at the fairly nasty comment above which called people idiots. It's perfectly reasonable to say 'I don't want to see it for x reasons' whatever those reasons are.

Anyway both points still stand! (personally not a fan of the piece though it has some beautiful musical moments, so I fully appreciate your stance)

Well, I booked. More because the person I go with is desperate to see it. Only booked 15 quid jobs in the gods though!

Sorry to be a bit behind (catching up on a 2 month absence) but am I the only one who has never heard of Katherine Jenkins? Who on earth is she?!
