Never got the chance to see this last time round but I managed to grab an entry pass ticket this morning. I’ll finally get to see the show in February

Reading between the lines of a tweet from Jenna Russell and some of the replies, I would guess she was in line to do this but a clash of dates has prevented this.

Imelda not returning, apparently. Has this been confirmed yet? As there's no mention on the NT website.

Imelda not returning, apparently. Has this been confirmed yet? As there's no mention on the NT website. I think it's been known for some time that she wouldn't be returning. There was a recent interview with Janie Dee who talks about it too: " Follies returning is very exciting because I didn't feel like I completely nailed it the first time. So it's very nice to be able to have a bit longer with it. I said to Dominic [Cooke, the director] that I think there's a bit more there to be mined and he agreed. There is the worry that the expectations are going to be even higher, and of course we don't have Imelda this time round, but I just feel lucky to be able to do it again."

The NT site is not what I'd call a great source for NT casting information. Even when they finally get round to putting all the cast online, they never bother telling you who's playing which part. Which might not matter for people booking a new play, but is useful for revivals, and for people who might want to be able to refer to it after they've seen the play in question...

I'm kinda glad Imelda isn't coming back to the role in truth. I hope someone who can put some life into that role takes over.

Agreed, considering it is the National, the site overall never mind casting info is awful

I would pay good money for that cast Kimberley Walsh as Heidi Schiller Alexandra Burke as Carlotta Amanda Holden doubling as Loveland “heart girl” and Stella Deems in a fantastic display of color blind casting!

Maybe they can pull a younger crowd in if they change Loveland to LoveIsland

Oh that's sad, think she impressed with her version of 'Losing my mind', knowing that song has been performed by so many others.
But of course curious to see who will be in the new cast, quite strange that only two of them seem to have confirmed, on such a well received production..

I loved loved loved the show (I know you didn't as much), but if I was to nit-pick, she was the weakest link and mis-cast. I'm definitely going to go again but kinda waiting to find out if I can tie it in with the final night of 42nd Street - I think it will close around then?

Yes. What an absolute shame. Yes, she would have been ideal. Much more age appropriate and physically suited than Staunters! (good as she was, it wasn't really her role)

Yes, she would have been ideal. Much more age appropriate and physically suited than Staunters! (good as she was, it wasn't really her role) I thought Staunton's Losing my Mind was great (almost as good as anything Elaine Paige has ever done) but I am intrigued to see who they get instead because when I saw it towards the end of the run she seemed tired really. Let's face it, as long as Traci Bennett comes back it doesn't matter who the rest of the cast are

She just didn't have the voice. Can they import Victoria Clark from the USA?

Vicky Clark or better still Judy Kuhn who has never played Sally, but does brilliant versions of In Buddy's Eyes and Losing My Mind in her cabaret act.
