Or might be 'Cats', as that show is also touring again and could be considered iconic:) It's not Cats. 😉

If anyone would like to keep up to date with the new tour, I run a fanfeed (nothing official) on Twitter - @bloodbrostour.
The show is still on a break.
I will announce casting when the cast and BKL do on social media.

OMG LINZI HATELY TO BE THE NEXT MRS J!!
Olivier Award nominated British actress Linzi Hateley makes her debut in the seminal role of Mrs Johnstone. She said:
“Mrs Johnstone is an iconic role that I’ve always secretly dreamed of playing. I’m thrilled to finally get the chance to fulfil a dream - and to perform it to audiences right across our country.”
The cast for new Blood Brothers tour includes Sarah Jane Buckley, Sean Jones, Mark Hutchinson, Robbie Scotcher, Danielle Corlass, Tim Churchill, Graham Martin, Amy Jane Ollies, Alison Crawford, Graeme Kinniburgh, Andy Owens and Josh Capper

The combined age of the Johnson twins must be over 100 by now!

I remember Linzi singing Tell me it's not true a while back at a musicals concert and she said then that its a part she would love to play. Glad she is joining the illustrious group of women to play the character. Can't wait to see her.

This is really exciting. I can't recall the last time Blood Brothers toured without some kind of star casting. Really can't wait to see what Linzi does with the part, I think she's going to be great.
Also looking forward to seeing Robbie Scotcher again. I think[/] he was the Narrator when I first saw the show back in 2008, and I just remember thinking he was fantastic.
Wimbledon for me!

At last, an age appropriate Mrs J!! It was getting ridiculous having OAPs playing the role.

Why don’t they cast some age appropriate actors for the twins though? When I last saw it (and it will be the last time because I hated it) the sight of two middle aged men playing very small boys in those early scenes made me cringe.

I suppose it is in keeping with their 70 year old Mum!

Fab news, Linzi seems perfect for the role! I’m moving to London in September so will definitely try to see this in Wimbledon, although at the moment I can’t see any student discounts or ATG TheatreCard offers - stingy Kenwright!

I don't see them problem so much when the cast are playing the kids because it's deliberately fake. It's more of stretch, like someone else said when they're playing adults in their early 20's (especially with other actors of the right age). THat is the more uncredible scenario.

Sean Jones (Mickey) is not 50 yet, and Danielle is not 25.
Anyway, the full cast:
Mickey - Sean Jones - @seany180 Eddie - Mark Hutchinson Linda - Danielle Corlass - @dcorlass Mrs Johnstone - Linzi Hateley - @linzihateley Mrs Lyons - Sarah Jane Buckley - @sarahjabuckley Narrator - Robbie Scotcher - @robbiescotcher Sammy - Daniel Taylor - @danieltayloresq Mr Lyons - Tim Churchill - @timchurchill71 Donna Marie/Miss Jones - Amy-Jane Ollies - @amyjaneollies Brenda - Alison Crawford - @benormalpickle Policeman/Teacher - Graham Martin - @gramartin Perkins - Andy Owens - @andrewmcintosh8 Neighbour - Josh Capper - @joshcapper Bus Conductor - Graeme Kinniburgh
Daniel Taylor will not be performing as Sammy in Shrewsbury from 8 till 13 October 2018, as he puts on a production of 'A Taste of Honey' at the Epstein in Liverpool.
I run a fanfeed on Twitter - @bloodbrostour - and am administrator on the Facebook-page 'Blood Brothers UK Tour - Facebook Fanpage'.
There are two other fanfeeds on Twitter - @bloodbrosuktour and @bloodbrotour. None of the fanfeeds have any official or special access to the tour, cast, band and creatives.
End of public service-announcement. 😉

I know how you feel, I was a complete mess at Lyn's last performance. But she would like the fans to support Linzi.

Considering the twins are probably barely 30 (maybe 35? Certainly not very old anyway) by the end of the show, I think that should be the maximum sort of age for Mickey, Eddie, and Linda's actors. I believe Mrs Johnstone is 25 when she gives birth to the twins, so ideally her actor would be around 55. Obviously give a few years either way leeway because playing ages rarely match actual ages, but if your twins have gone beyond 40, then it's not really going to give a proper sense of tragedy at the end, for me anyway.

How long have they been performing in this show? I've seen it a few times over the years and it always seems to be the same people.

Do not tell me that there aren’t talented MT actors in their 20’s who couldn’t completely smash this and would fill it with some youthful optimism. It certainly needs it.

I’d like to see another producer or creative team take on Blood Brothers but I doubt Kenwright would ever let the rights go.

It’s a brilliant story dramatically but the way it’s presented is (for me) absolutely awful.

Have to disagree on that .It's one of the most successful touring shows filling venues year after year. As a scouser I am biased but its's still one of my favourite shows.
