My guess is it will be Emma, one of the understudies or someone who has playd the role previously, as it is a very fast turnaround for auditions and casting, let alone rehearsals too! It's not gonna be Emma, she's auditioned for something else Well you gotta consider two things... did she get whatever she auditioned for and when does it start? Because if she did a Summer run of Evita in London that was decided literally yesterday she wouldn't even know about the prospect of a London run until yesterday, she could do it before she begins her new run of whatever. |

Well Martine McCutcheon hasn't been on 'Loose Women' for a bit. Just saying . . . I know you were being sarcastic (it takes one to know one), but when she was on Zoe Ball's show t'other week, she said words to the effect that she wouldn't be doing a My Fair Lady type of run again. She was on Graham Norton's radio show promoting her new album and made it very clear she's not up for MT again. I'm paraphrasing but she was essentially saying it's too much commitment and pressure. But then she quickly qualified it by saying "not now anyway" (just in case the album flops, obviously). |

I don't do sarcasm. My posts are deadly serious. To be fair, I'm not sure La McCutcheon would have a choice in doing a long run anymore. I think the 'My Fair Lady' events put pay to most producers touching her with a bargepole. Didn't Dame Cameron say he wouldn't work with her again? All of which is an absolute shame because I managed to see her in the run back in the day and she really was glorious. Poor Martine. Although, having said that I have heard that Jonathan Pryce is absolutely gagging to work with her again so who knows what wonderful project may arise from that. |

At least Martine was actually ill and won an Olivier haha, David was actually scheduled to not turn up! |

That's crazy, it's not like the role is equivalent to Elphaba or Christine Daae. I suppose had Martine not missed so many shows, Kerry Ellis wouldn't have a career so that's definitely... something to think about  |

And I agree, it is ridiculous. Thats very true, its one of those weird circumstances. Its like, if Sheridan hadn't had her personal issues, no one would know who Natasha Barnes is. Its a very odd and weird situation because something negative becomes something positive for another person. |

Granted he didn't have to bellow like a foghorn and wave a broomstick about or fanny around on a boat in a corset but I'd say it was a physically demanding show on top of the vocal side of things. |

I'm the same as you age-wise, but from what I've heard, even though her stint in MFL is now more infamous in the industry for the amount of performances that she missed, I believe that when she *was* on, she was actually bloody brilliant in the role. I guess when the voters go see the show, they vote based on performances, not surrounding controversy! |

Granted I believe that she performed about the minimum number of times to make her eligible but when she was on, oh boy. Disclaimer. I was a very young theatre goer myself when I saw 'My Fair Lady' just to be clear. Very young. Almost a foetus. |

See yu ever realy hear of how good she was in the role sadly because of the controversy surrounding it. I'd love to of seen her in it! Also makes me laugh she won and Jonathan didn't, which woulda pissed him off even more! Don't try to justify your age to someone who knows you and knows just how young you are dear. |

I am old enough to have seen her in MFL and she was fabulous! She was equally as good as the cockney Eliza as she was the posh Eliza and the transition between. A very pretty girl, a hugely engaging stage presence and a Glorious voice! A loss to the stage but she just could not be bothered with the discipline of the theatre.

She's already said quite a few times in person and on interviews that she's finishing on July 23rd, she said in an interview yesterday that she finishes on July 23rd... Baz doesn't usually announce Kenwright productions even if they are London transfers, they usually release their own press releases so I imagine it may be sooner than we think. Also, it was only confirmed yesterday so it is a very fast turnaround if they wanted to announce tonight so I'm not entirely surprised it hasn't been announced. |
