You know what I wouldn't be half surprised if Laura Emmitt ends up in that cast.

Hooray!
It was due, it must be 2 years since I saw it and I'm ready for more!
Peron! Peron! Peron!
(not with serial killer smiler Pellow though)

I loved the last Evita with Madelena Alberto, I loved the film with Madge and I love all cast recordings. I didn't love Marti Pellow one jot but anyone here that knows me knows that!
I'll be watching cast news with interest.

Pellow was the sole reason I avoided the last production of Evita - please, ANYONE but him

The advert for this in my local theatre's new brochure says it's "DIRECT FROM IT'S WEST END TRIUMPH!!"

Wasn't there already a UK tour following the West End revival? Starring Louise Dearman?

I wish they'd toured the Grandage Adelphi production - was way classier.

That does look quite classy to be honest Yeah that's the one. It had a mixed reception on here (interestingly a lot of people seem to prefer Kenwright's version - pretty rare for this board!) but I loved it and having been too young for Harold Prince's original, this is my definitive Evita. Also the new Broadway cast recording is the only up to date complete recording with the new orchestrations which I love (think the last complete recording was the OBC with Patti LuPone)

I saw the original and loved it...however the Grandage version I think is definitive.

I saw the original production about 20 years ago in Hull and staring a very old Marti Web. One of the worst nights out in my life ... Inside, I'm still crying

Did this not tour a few years ago? Are the nation really clamouring for it's return? I was distinctly under whelmed. Marti Pellow was, well, Marti Pellow. The only saving grace for me was seeing the understudy Michelle Pentecost as lead. She was incredible.

I can't see them bringing back Marti Pellow to be honest, he looks too old for the part.
Debating whether to pay and see this, I like the songs "Buenos Aires" & "Don't Cry..." and I like the storyline but I'm not sure if I would get bored.

They roll him out for everything. I cannot get on with him whatsoever and as I never really look at cast listing before I go he has spoiled no end of things namely blood bros and war of the world's. Oops will get of my Marti rant pedestal haha.

If they weren't looking for a name then they might just get Matthew Goodgame back on board? Depends what they're looking for
