I swear, the ensemble for this show never changes. Some of them have been with the show since the 2014 tour with Pellow!

Does anyone know when this cast starts. I have tickets for Belfast and would like to know who I am watching. I couldn't find a tweet from the GOH mentioning Lucy O'Byre, but I might have just missed it.

It will be this cast because the previous one (Madalena Alberto, Gian Marco Schiaretti et al) have done their final performance. It’s a bit of a weird cast change though. The only changes are the 3 leads and 2 ensemble members.

I'm really hoping that audios of Lucy will crop up soon. I'm intrigued to see how her voice fits this role, but the current tour is literally going nowhere near me. I missed my chance when it came to Newcastle with Madalena, and I'm still kicking myself over not going because a lot of my friends went that night.

I thought Lucy was brilliant through out. 'Peron' was good too. Glenn was too old and seemed bored in the role already!

Do we know who the alternate Eva is? I’m guessing it’d be Chrissy Brookes.

Sorry - I got confused. Chrissie Perkins is one of the new ensemble members, not Chrissy Brooke.
Alt. Eva is Katie Shearman.

I saw this in the GOH Belfast last night and was pretty impressed. Lucy O’Byrne was a pretty good Eva, but struggled with some of the belted stuff and the lower notes is Buenos Aires. By the end her performance is really beautiful. Although he is quite old looking for the role I really liked Glenn Carter. I’m not really a fan of his voice but he led the show from the front and his cynicism was really effective on stage. The direction is identical to the last tour but it is worth going along to.

Saw this last night and thought Lucy was really good in the part. She sung all of Eva’s lines in A New Argentina how they should be sung (not an octave down) which I agree makes the song a lot more thrilling and gave a great rendition of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina. I think her voice is well-suited to the role, she can do sweet and beautiful but also harsh and belty at the same time, which I think is important for Eva. I would have liked a bit more from her acting-wise but she’ll probably get more and more into the role as her run goes on. Glen Carter was very good as Che but to be honest I’m going to be super-shallow and say I miss Gian Marco because he was hot! I also preferred having Gian and his Italian accent (I know that makes no sense because it’s set in Argentina but Glen’s very British accent took me out of the story sometimes). The production came to the Wales Millennium Centre this time instead of the New Theatre Cardiff and I think that showed how small-scale and cheap the set is, and the ensemble/choreography, because the stage at the WMC is a lot bigger and the whole production looked a bit lost. Also the orchestra sound very thin when compared to the Sunset Boulevard tour. But to be fair this tour is priced quite a bit cheaper than Wicked/Matilda etc. so you get what you pay for. We all had an enjoyable evening but me and my Gran agreed that Sunset is still our favourite Lloyd-Webber musical.

Not exactly on topic, but related. Saw this clip of A New Argentina. Don’t know whether this is an amateur production or what, but this girl can belt. She sings the whole song in an even higher key than the original. Seems amazing to me.

I’m slightly annoyed with myself. Missed this in Newcastle and Glasgow, and found out it was in Aberdeen this week. I was in Aberdeen today and just found out now as I’m heading home.
I would go back up to Aberdeen tomorrow for the matinee but I’m broke unfortunately.

Caught a matinee of this today at the Wycombe Swan, FABulous, the cast were great, the production quality was amazing, and I have to say the Evita understudy Katie Sherman was exquisite, breathtaking performance, I shead a few tears during the finale, standing ovations! Go catch it, it's very reasonably priced especially for matinee's!
