They sent me an email before midday to say it was cancelled, so I was able to phone the box office of the show I was supposed to be seeing this evening & move my ticket to the matinee. |

Maybe because it's not their own website? There was no announcement on their website till well after you let us know. And I haven't got an email from them yet. What is annoying is that I might have got into another play (although not much available on Sundays) if they had not sold me the tickets when they must have known they had to cancel. But I'll go and have some serious Japanese food and see "On Chesil Beach" instead. And on the positive side thanks to you I won't need to traipse all the way to the Finborough for nowt! So thanks again. |

I'm sure Woking theatre normally has quite good air conditioning was very hot and sweaty in there today!

I've been cancelled on by fringe theatres a couple of times before at the last minute - including one time when I spent about half an hour waiting confusedly outside a shut theatre because they hadn't bothered to send any staff to tell the patrons - so I know how frustrating it can be.
The Criterion's air con was working reasonably well this afternoon. This is the third summer running where I'm very relieved that my current favourite show is on at a theatre with air con!

I'm sure Woking theatre normally has quite good air conditioning was very hot and sweaty in there today! It wasn't woking properly. |

The Empire Cinema was very very warm for last Sunday's Matinee performance of Brief Encounter, a woman along from us kept falling asleep and I have to admit it was making me a little bit sleepy! The cast also looked extremely sweaty, bless them.

NT foyer bits were uncomfortably warm and carpety yesterday - did they have the heating on? Ok inside the theatre, though.

I went to the Globe to see Much Ado About Nothing back in March when it snowed. 2 hours in -3 degrees, couldn’t feel my feet but the cast were flawless! Does that count?

I'd have swapped my Globe Much Ado experience for yours. I saw it back in summer 2011 when it was 30 degrees. I was standing (not out of choice, seats sold out months in advance) & blacked out & collapsed during the first act & had to be helped out by one of the ushers. I'd take freezing over that any day! |

The Victoria Palace is lovely and cool when you walk in, but too warm by the time the show starts and just gets warmer and warmer as the show goes on.
Southwark Playhouse is too hot, and if you're sitting near the front you may get to enjoy the pleasure of being sprayed with sweat as cast members twirl.
The Coliseum is blissfully cold.
Piccadilly theatre is okay temperature wise.

Edinburgh Playhouse is an oven. Avoid seats under the circle or balcony overhang, especially if the house is full.

While the Upper Circle is hotter than hell no matter what the weather, the Circle and Stalls are airconditioned. Rear Stalls gets TOO chilly if anything. Though they've actually answered on their own twitter just to confirm I'm not making it up.... |

And quite, a couple of Christmases ago, in the freezing weather I nearly passed out from the heat watching 'A Christmas Carol' not exactly the ambiance they were looking for haha! but the Stalls are usually a good temperature. |

I haven't actually set foot in there during the summer so haven't taken advantage, but good to know if I do! And ugh I've had my share of the boiling Travelodge night too. |
