Almost 17 weeks in a 900+ seat house?
Have we all lost our minds?!

I wish them all the luck and success in the world but, while I loved this, I felt it was a particularly British story. I could absolutely see this working for a more limited run, but this does seem like a stretch.

Almost 17 weeks in a 900+ seat house? Have we all lost our minds?! I also did a double take looking at that scheduling. Rob at least has somewhat of a following over here, and it was on at the Ambassadors

^ 'them.'
I think they will struggle for 17 weeks... A month would be sensible in order to recoup costs etc. And you're right, ^ but I saw on Rob's instagram they have a draft for Broadway so maybe they're going to change it up a bit?
(However, I'm not a producer so can't say I'm an expert!!!)

This comped it's way through the run at the Ambassadors in London where Rob is known...
I'm sorry, I wish them the best and all, but this is absolute insanity

This feels like an absolute suicide mission, doesn't it?! As noted above, they flogged it like a dead horse in London and had to comp it to even attempt to fill the smaller Ambassadors Theatre.
Also, isn't Rob going to just get lost on such a large stage?
Premium tickets $248.50 for a one-act 75 minute show.

The business model for a Broadway run is very different to the West End and one-off/one-month/2-or-3-week runs don't cut it over there.
That being said, I LOVED this show, but to play New York, it strikes me as being more suited to Off-Broadway than Broadway, where it could more easily fill its house and have a shorter run to see how well it's received by American audiences.
I wish the show every success though. I was amazed by how much I truly enjoyed it and how much parts of it resonated with me.

Ooof. Not sure works as a direct comparison, but Purlie on Broadway, with a far more famous name and great reviews is playing to 60% audience with very low avg pricing. This seems cut out for a big struggle to me, even with good reviews and every seat priced at 30 dollars.

I’ve stopped predicting what will become a sleeper hit or not but yes, a run at that theater for that length of time, staring a person who I’m guessing hardly any American has ever heard of, seems absolutely insane to me.
But stranger things have happened…

I wish him luck, saw the show at the Ambassadors and loved it and love his little videos in IG but I fear there will be tears before bedtime.

Obviously aiming for the Tony Awards window, but I think it will backfire with low sales meaning they’ll have to close early.
A couple of nights at a 54Below would have been more sensible.

Even 6 weeks off Broadway woulda been understandable but I just cannot get my head around the logic of this.

Premium tickets $248.50 for a one-act 75 minute show. HOW MUCH??? I adored this show - I saw it in Edinburgh at Underbelly in the Fringe in 2022, having been already aware of the buzz around it at that point. But that's an awfully large amount of money for a one-person, one-act show. Do you at least get a Meet and Greet for that amount?

Yeah, this is not going to play out as the producers apparently think (hope? pray?) it will. I mean you can buy premium tickets right now for around $220 for the new Paula Vogel play starring Jessica Lange, Jim Parsons, and Celia Keenan-Bolger.

What a bad plan, it needs to be off-broadway and under $70

I wonder how the initial sales have gone. Also shocked to see how long the Lyceum is sitting empty for before this production. Appears to have been empty since July.

Luke Sheppard's ego is killing what could be a brilliant Off-Broadway run.

And to no one’s surprise, the show has allegedly been axed entirely from its Broadway run just 3 weeks before it was due to open. The ticket sales are shockingly poor which is a shame, but what’s even more infuriating is the team that allowed this to happen. I feel bad for Rob:(
