My prediction is a drag queen from the telly doing a Cher impression.

My prediction is a drag queen from the telly doing a Cher impression. Oh god. I could book based on the Cher character alone, but I could also avoid it like the plague based on the Cher character alone.

My prediction is a drag queen from the telly doing a Cher impression. Almost 100% certainly this won't be the case.

My prediction is that this will get nowhere near the West End.

She’s trained apparently, East London Arts and Music, but it seems highly risky to put someone with no real acting experience other than college as the lead in a new musical.

Hasn't she contributed to the score or something? So that's how she got in?

She’s Christina’s protégée. Sources say she was exceptional in the workshop so why shouldn’t we give her fair chance? Why the witch hunt these days, why can’t we be hopeful that newcomers might actually have the goods to deliver?

Oh no you guys have got it all wrong- she’s an incredible vocalist. I’ve been following her journey for a while and she’s in a girl group (1.7mil followers on tik tok). I think if the staging is elaborate and choreography is sleek, this will turn into a massive hit. A reckon perhaps less so for the theatre community but I really think they are going to market it well and make it ‘cool’. We will see but mark my words!!! Plus as everything that turns out to be a success in theatreland, there has to be naysayers in the first few pages of its theatre board thread 🤣.

It’s a discussion forum not a fan forum. There is no witch hunt, we’re simply discussing it and some have said they don’t like her voice.

Has she done any acting though? She's got the weight of a whole brand new musical on her shoulders and if she's just a pop star then I don't know how successful that's going to be?
Might be wrong, might be a smash hit, but the early signs on this aren't filling me with...masses of confidence.

Do they have a West End theater in mind? And does anybody know around the dates that will come in to London?

Exactly - some of us sat through Chicago and never need to do that again

The Shaftesbury now has that partnership with the producer whose name I have temporarily forgotten. I don't think he's involved in this, is he?

Yes Jamie Wilson has the Shaftesbury for 10 years.
He isn't involved in this, but is involved with Just For One Day at the Old Vic. Also, Officer and gentleman uk tour. Plus Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion, and The Notebook on Broadway
