See! That's what I said about her "American" accent. Let's not fault her--she is not hired to act then sing. She's hired to sing and do some acting around it.

I was at the show last night (after I very lonely dayseat queue.......) and all I can say is WOW. Bev's voice is insane, so flawless. I think it's a shame that the Bodyguard recording is Alexandra Burke and not Bev, because I would listen to her sing those songs over and over. If you are umming and ahhing like myself over whether to go, I would say, if you love Bev, or if you love Whitney then get a ticket. If the dayseat queues remain as quiet as yesterday then you can't get a better view than the front row. The stage set far enough back that views are perfect. Thank you! I've heard that a lot of people didn't enjoy the tour, and I was worried that this new stint in London would be similar. I loved the show at the Adelphi, but I saw Heather and Joelle, so am looking forward to catching Beverley in this.

Managed to grab one of the last dayseats for tonight in the front row! So excited! One of my favourite musicals but haven't seen it since the Adelphi with Alexandra, but Beverley was iconic in the role! My 7th time seeing it overall, buzzed.

OK now I remember why this I one of my favourite musicals! Beverley is senstational, just wow! Ben is fantastic and gorgeous! Rachel is stunning! It is just a fantastic show. The changes since the Adelphi totally work and make sense. The audience (stalls and circle pretty much full) lapped it up! They went mad when Ben sang and when Beverley appears in the black dress at the end, they went mental before she even got to the big note. What a fantastic evening... I will definitely be back to visit several times no doubt before it leaves in January!

Also, if you can dayseat, don't miss out! Not a single restriction. The floor is head height so no neck strain and there is at least a metre between you and the orchestra pit to stretch out! Even when Beverley is on the raised platform at the end, you can see her entirely. Not to be missed! Note: you do get a few lights in your eye... I have epilepsy and I was fine, but just be aware, the I Will Always Love You smoke is pretty blinding but you can see Beverley so if you have asthma be aware and the fire for Queen of the Night, you can feel that heat hahaha! No issues for me, but just to be aware.

Here is a clip from the Dutch version: Thanks for sharing. Just had a listen to this. IWALY is beautiful but that version of Queen of the Night is just dreadful. It verges on shrieking for me, and is not easy on the ears at all.

Regarding the beginning of the show as earlier mentioned, on Friday they did have an announcement about two minutes before the show began to give some form of warning about the show beginning before the start of the show two minutes later. And during those two minutes, I don't know if it is audible throughout the theatre, but from the front, the drummer was doing a drum beat throughout in order to make it feel like a build up to the show. It did still cause a lot of screams but it did feel like the voice and drummer noise was added to make it more acceptable in todays culture. Especially as the start of the show is so effective, it would be a shame to lose it!

It's a good little show isn't it? Has the powerful songs in a way which doesn't feel simply shoehorned in (I'm looking at you, Ben Elton and Brian May), and a solid storyline behind it. Couple of excellent stagecraft moments, the lighting team do themselves proud.
In many ways it feels like a play with music rather than a musical with a story.
How does it compare in structure to the film? I've never seen it so have no reference points for how much was crafted for stage as opposed to doing a Dirty Dancing on it.

Personally speaking, I think it feels like a different entity to the film. They made the conscious choice to make the musical more around Rachel Marron and have Frank Farmer be the support of the two, whilst in the film Frank Farmer is very much the lead with Rachel Marron being the supporting player in the pair. The character of Nicki is also a lot more developed in the stage version, and has a lot more to do which makes the finale a lot more powerful. And obviously too there are a lot more musical numbers in the stage show, some of which mould into the story whilst the film simply has the songs as performances or music video performances etc... if that makes any sense?

I got my tickets for the US tour starring Deborah Cox! Seeing two shows in the same day in early December. The plan is to see Debs and the alternate. Exciting!

Very easy day seats this morning, arrived at 9am no one there so went to get a coffee. Came back at 9.30am and there were 4 people, come 10am only 8 people. Bargain! Love a day queue that you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a seat!!

Argh Wednesday matinees are useless for those of us work office hours! Please could you let us know if she ends up having any other dates?

I'm keeping an eye out on her twitter feed incase she does. I'm guessing the only scheduled shows she'd have is Monday eve/Wednesday mat for if/when Carole is on holiday/sick! Then slim chances if both bev/carole are sick at same time or if carole is sick when covering one of Beverly confirmed holiday dates. Beverly was a trooper in the Adelphi run and as far as I'm aware Carole never missed any of her scheduled shows on tour!

Errrr, why does Rachel get a scheduled show on when she isn't an understudy for Rachel Marron? According to the programme:
Beverley is Lead, Carole is Alternate/Standby and Emmy Willow is 2nd Cover? No mention of Rachel as an Understudy? Unless that is a date that none of those ladies are available but very strange.

The only programme I had mentioning Rachel as an u/s was Canterbury when she was alternating. Think It is just an error they've still not corrected. Rachel did get two unplanned tour shows in Norwich when Carole was off sick

Notification from TodayTix for a £15 front row lottery for tonight.
Assuming this is the end of row seats since standard dayseats are £25. Not sure if this is going to be a regular Friday thing, a daily thing or a one off.
