Yeah I agree I'm partially upset it's still the same Queen of the Night, but it does look better and Beverley suits that costume better. Now I'm pretty certain it'll be the tour set

I'm sure if the set isn't the best then the show will still be good though. They've got Beverley Knight who is an amazing singer and now a respected musical theatre performer and Ben Richards who's not a bad actor and done theatre before too.
Do you think this was always supposed to return to London after its tour or have Nederland just drafted this in to fill the gap before American in Paris transfers? Nederland do half own the Adelphi so maybe they never wanted it to leave London?

Never knew that. I presume it is just a filler but maybe they anticipated it would always return to London after and 18 month tour

Just noticed on the official site there's more show pictures including a Carole one in the feather monstrosity.
I think a London stop was always planned once it started selling well, since they didn't actually want to leave London in the first place. I know the second tour cast always had a year long contract anyway

They said they had considered going to the Aldwych but it wasn't big enough so they just went on tour. It's a good filler for 6 months I think. Is Thea Sharrock directing again?

It's her direction but I don't think she actually comes in to do the work anymore. She directed the OLC and I think came in a few times to do the replacement cast and did some 1-1 with Alexandra, and again spent some time with the tour cast and did the auditions, but I don't think she's hands-on anymore.

No I think it's her assistant that does it all now, he did the German production and brought in the changes from that

What songs are in this version. All the lists I can find have some songs added or removed The song list is identical to the songs on the CD (with an additional I Will Always Love You sung by Frank, Where Do Broken Hearts Go and a Run to You Reprise). They removed Say Yes (and that entire scene) and replaced it with Greatest Love Of All I'm Your Baby Tonight was replaced with How Will I Know? The Mayan scene is now a medley of Million Dollar Bill, I Wanna Dance with Somebody and So Emotional How Will I Know at the bar is now Where Do Broken Hearts Go Act II is pretty much the same song order with exception to adding Run To You reprise.

So if Oh Yes has been taken out, does the stalker say one word throughout the whole show? I've read tour reviews which say he doesn't?

He doesn't speak in act one but in act two has a brief bit of dialogue involving Fletcher and then he sings a line in the finale. As for the rest he just stands there looking ripped.

I remember the short dialogue with Fletcher in Act 2 from London! I wonder if they'll bring back the crane part for when he is "writing" to Rachel at the beginning rather than just projection?

Probably no crane. No crane in Germany and that stage is probably comparable to the size of the Dominion. I honestly don't see any upgrades in London, I think it's basically just a long stop to the tour with two new leads and a new souvenir brochure.

It'll be polished up slightly with a couple of tweaks taken from the German production.

Very little, there'll just be a slightly modified staging and lighting and the lift goes higher. The show itself is as it is on tour.

Considering that the fit up is being done now, surely these pictures were taken in a tour venue?

It will probably fit through the Dominion letter box.. Yes they would spend all of that time and money putting the set in early just to take some photos. (Bangs head on table) And also there's been some Hillsong Charity Concert thing for the past month or something like that? I presume the set will come in the coming weeks but I doubt it's there just yet

So maybe the set may have added features?

Possibly, depends on if they want to spend money really. If anything it may just be the added German bits. I'll probably go on Friday just because I'm impatient and will want to see it for myself early rather then waiting

Looks like it will be opening in Australia soon. It's listed on their site under tickets, but when you go in to buy tickets it asks for an AKA (the advertising/web agency) password. So I think we'll be getting news soon.
