I'm so booking for this! On sale at midday according to What's On Stage. Hoping there's an ATG presale - 10am?

I'm so booking for this! On sale at midday according to What's On Stage. Hoping there's an ATG presale - 10am? You were right.
Most seats in the Stalls are £85; Premium are £125, carved out from Rows D to K. £45 - Back row of the stalls and a smattering of the very far side aisle (restricted) side views; £65 - Next to back two rows and a smattering of aisle-adjacent far side seats.

Yes, it's on presale now. Pricey though - I'm just deciding if I'm prepared to pay £85 for front stalls or if I go with front of the upper circle for £45 and risk DVT...

Not really a play person but this looks really interesting and 2 actors I'd like to see on stage.

Excited for this!! I’ve read a bit about Billy in the biography written by Tom Quinn. He led an interesting life, and he’s one of the first openly gay men employed in the senior royal household.
Wondering who will they cast as Reginald Wilcock, who was also a Page for the Queen Mum and was Billy’s partner.

There’s a channel 4 documentary on YouTube all about Backstairs Billy if anyone wants to know more about him before seeing the play. Search Backstairs Billy the Queen Mum’s Butler.

That was easy enough. I was 2nd in queue and got a couple of good Royal Circle seats for beginning of November.

Bit flippin pricey. I’d love to see Wilton on stage but I’m not a fan of Evans

Thanks for highlighting that the documentary is on YouTube BurlyBeaR, I’ve just watched it - good to know a bit more about Billy and his life now.
Interesting that he was ‘cleared out’ by the family pretty quickly after the Queen Mother’s death - in much the same way Angela Kelly has apparently been treated following the Queen’s death.

Got my seat and I’m extremely excited to see Wilton in person. Honestly one of the things the rest of the year I’m most excited for.

There was a play about him and a fictional encounter with Princess Margaret set over the weekend Diana died. Harriet Thorpe played Margaret I think the play was called A Princess Undone.
Billy was past retirement age when the Queen Mum died and apparently remained good friends with the then Earl Snowdon who used to visit him in his flat. There was an online article about Billy around the time of the Channel 4 documentary saying quite a bit about his post Royal Service years. I'll try to find it and post a link.
I like how they have set the play so Luke is the perfect age to play Billy and Dame Penelope will only be a couple of years younger than HM QM was then.

Just bought tickets to this. Sounds utterly charming and would be a treat to see both Penelope and Luke on stage

Any idea on the whereabouts of 10 quid tickets announced on the web? No info on allocation, release in September, seems a bit vague.. Subscribed but got nothing so far.

I suspect behind a pillar or a wall.

For Labour of Love (which was also by Michael Grandage’s company) the £10 tickets were on the front row. They were sold as day seats at the box office though.

Orlando’s £10 tickets were also front row so I’m holding out for something similar! Fingers crossed.

I don't recall subscribing, but I've received an email. Might be worth a punt for 10 quid!

Nothing here. Will check the main ATG page but assuming they won't appear there as it's meant to be a presale according to the production's tweet/email received yesterday.
