I personally felt safe and the rows were definitely spaced out, I could pretty much stretch my legs out all the way ahead of me/people could get past me without me having to get up or even turn in my seat. I bought my ticket in the first round of sales, so got an aisle seat so the aisle was easily two meters and the two seats next to me were empty. Then when the second block of tix went on sale the seats right in front and right behind me went on sale and their rows only had one seat in between bubbles.
As I said, I felt safe but then I had Covid, so my personal safety concerns are probably a lot less than those of people that didn't and I know two friends of mine that did go and sat in the stalls did not feel very safe and would have liked seats to be spaced in a way that there was never anyone right in front or behind or next to the group, seeing that the Palladium went with the one meter, rather than two.
So whilst I do agree that Mr Shenton could have probably brought this up in private first with the producers or the theatre before saying it didn't meet requirements, he definitely is not the only person that complained about feeling unsafe, he is just the most high-profile one. Not that I think his profile is anywhere near as high as he thinks it is. LOL

He is such an idiot - they did have the minimum distancing plus mitigation measures, in fact far more than the minimum overall package.
His obsession with measurements while ignoring the rest of the safety measures in place is frankly dangerous and misleading.
He is spreading misinformation which will hurt the industry as the person who called him out suggests, so he is not the sainted saviour he is making himself out to be!

Seems like this might be coming back? Lambert Jackson have teased an announcement tomorrow at 10am and the cast have all tweeted photos of the Palladium concert this evening!

I admire their ambition and wish them luck but is there really enough demand for this to fill 5 weeks in the West End in a pandemic?

Very welcome news!
I agree 4 weeks is ambitious but it has a lot going for it- small cast, small theatre. With usual 690 capacity I imagine this will be cut down to maximum 50% (345). That wouldn’t be the hardest sell in the world.
I hope coming February the country is in a marginally better place to encourage people to travel and see the show.
With Nica Burns so determined to get theatre open and people in them she might be cutting rent and rates?! Who knows!
I for sure will be going, cannot wait!

It’s a risk but surely a cast of 5 and small band in concert is less of a risk than many shows. (Will it have the student chorus again?, that made more sense to me in the one off concert format)

In a non COVID world - this is a brilliant venue for this show! Shame it's not been done before.

£65 top price is a tad steep, isn't it?

Pretty much the regular pricing for a show of this size (£20-£65). A tad cheaper than Six which is of a similar scale.
