they have just added 2 more days to view, can i ask anyone who has watched how it is streamed? ive had a few problems with some online streaming services and dont want to purchase if i can't watch It was a password protected link on Vimeo when I watched on Thursday. |

Just watched this, even though I knew the show itself didn’t excite me. Remember seeing a tour years back with someone from Neighbours in and didn’t enjoy it. I was swayed by the love on here and the desire to support the brilliant Hope Mill.
Excellent performances, and such strong production values. Of all these lockdown specials that have kept us from going mad, this was one of the best. Really glad I watched it even though my opinion of the show hasn’t changed.
Now if we can just persuade them to recreate their awesome production of Spring Awakening. I’d pay to stream that all week.

I've just spent 15 minutes in heaven. My introduction into musical theatre came through 2 albums - Jesus Christ Superstar (concept album) and the West End cast recording of Godspell.
Today I was able to see David Essex's 1977 TV series (no I don't remember it either). In the last episode he's talking about his time in Godspell when there's a horn played at the back of the studio and Jeremy Irons and the rest of the original cast come on and spend 15 minutes giving us highlights of the show. It's an incredible record of the show - Irons, Neil Fitzwilliam, Verity-Anne Meldrum, Deryk Parkin, Tom Saffery and Marti Webb all given time to sing their signature song.
This and Play Away give such a different view of Jeremy Irons than his post Brideshead career.

I was lucky enough to see this back in 1973 on a school trip. We were supposed to be going to see Jesus Christ Superstar but couldn’t get tickets so ended up going to see Godspell instead which was great. It was the same cast and I also managed to get the autograph of Jeremy Irons in the interval. This was my first visit to see a show in London and have loved the show ever since. I did eventually get to see JCS a couple of years later which I also thoroughly enjoyed.

Ha Mine was the exact opposite - JCS with my parents in 1973 and then Godspell a few years later with Su Pollard.
