Any chances for an extension? I was about to see this during my last visit in London. The plan was to see the Sunday matinee, take a train to the airport right after that, and catch last flight home. Sadly, due to adverse weather conditions all trains to Stansted were cancelled during the day, and I had to catch the bus (it was, sadly, impossible to get to the airport on time by bus after the show). I'll be in London next weekend, but the schedule has changed, I don't have plans for Sunday, but no matinee on Sunday is now played.  |

I am surprised there hasn’t been much more buzz about this on here. Saw it for the second time on Friday, the £10 seats are a steal. Although I am not a fan of this genre of music, I like the title song though, the story is paper fin but insanely enjoyable. This is truly a ensemble piece and anyone try and name a better ensemble on the West End stage at the moment? The cast of 6 works their socks off. 4 Stars I'd go as far as to say that the £10 seats are better than some of the more expensive. I was in Row E (the back row of the first block of seats in the Circle), which has a face value of £26.50, and I would rather have been sat a row or two further back. Row E is actually on the same level as the two rows in front of it, with no rake, whereas F is raised a step higher, and G a step higher again, so I imagine the view would be better from F or G. |

As others have said, the plot is stick thin, but wow what a great production. Not familiar with any of the music beforehand but it was very enjoyable and the performances are so energetic. The staging and choreography is simply fantastic.
I was sat in the inner stalls row A seat 61 right next to the stage so had an amazing view throughout the whole show. 100% recommended.

I wanted to like this, but didn’t- simply not my cup of tea. The performance I attended was delayed by 45 minutes because of a technical problem and a good number of the half full theatre left. I found the cast very talented and the plot paper thin, but ultimately left underwhelmed. I did like the staging and found it quite immersive.
I know they have been papering a lot, so would expect it not to last too much longer. Any idea what would go in there next? Or is a leased space that will be torn down?

It's announced it's closure for the 24th March, I can see it lasting until then (albeit with papering but still). As for what's next I feel it'd be a shame to get rid of the space, especially so soon after it's been built but I can see that happening.

Saw this yesterday and was very underwhelmed. I really wanted to like it, but just didn't and couldn't.
I also HATE the audience participation. This nearly made me get up and walk out. Star of the show was Little Moe for me.
The tent looks nice, but was absolutely freezing! We were sat close to one of the emergency exists and had to keep our thick coats on during the show because it was so cold. This also did not add to any enjoyment.

That surprises me, as the program does credit a number of understudies (though most of them understudy two parts). What surprised me more though, is that they are all credited as 'ensemble' - but there is nobody else on stage other than the Moes, plus the main character. Are they singing off-stage? Or...?

Went to see this last night...
I love the blues and the music from the era portrayed in the show but hated this and left at the interval.
The plot was ridiculously thin and the production had the feel of a glorified Butlins/am dram effort.
As for the audience participation... I've not come to see 'Monky' (the nom de plume of, presumably, Mr Monk) stagger drunkenly unto the stage and 'sing' or a conga line straight out of Carry on Abroad.
Heavily papered last night so maybe on it's way out. Good.

I finally got to see this show tonight thanks to reduced tickets from TodayTix and I really enjoyed it. I had only heard a few bits of music from the Hey Producer DVD I own but I liked what I heard. And tonight I enjoyed it a lot. Yes the plot is a little thin but the cast bring such an amazing energy and sense of enjoyment of their roles that you get quickly immersed in it. I loved the bluesy songs and thought the staging was really clever. Audience were on their feet and everyone seemed to be having a good time which I feel is important in a theatre visit. 9/10 from me!
